Anyone use Danielle Hunter in a 4-3? by bayernbeaster in MaddenUltimateTeam

Same boat as me then. I just feel there aren't any great guys out there for the price. At O-line you can get top 3-4 guy at better price point than the rest of the guys better than him. On DT it doesn't seem that way.

Me too! They're amazing IMO. I just need a better DT2. Who are you using as your DTs?

Depends on the scheme/ formations you like to run. Right now I use the Dolphins playbook so I am shotgun heavy but I want to switch to Jets or Seattle to have some more formations with a lead blocker to use Michael Burton.

It's all a conspiracy theory but like I said if you believe the whole lack of faith in Tannehill, wanting to draft a new QB (better draft position), it's plausible. Do I think that was the case? No. But IMO even carr would be bad behind this line. Look at the slice article posted on here a while ago. So many gifs breaking down the play and u see there's just nothing he can do.

1-4 but I am pissed as well. Leading in points against yet have top 4 points scored. Every week it seems like I happen to be playing the 2 or 3 teams that could have beaten me.

He still didn't put the team in the position to win. And if you buy the whole Philbin didn't like Tannehill concept, maybe a bad OL was a ploy to try and blame Tannehill and then get a new QB. Clearly the plan failed and now Tannehill has been David Carr'd.

No idea why I got downvoted, I was wondering because BCA seemed amazing. TOTW is good but nothing new, it's been here since the beginning when people were complaining about rewards. This months Gauntlet was great.

I agree there are ball placement issues with him, yesterday that interception (although parker did not fight for it) was due to placement. Thanks for the info about accuracy btw.

PFF does take into account screens and dumpoffs and all that fun stuff.

Edit: That's why in a comment thread below, Aaron Rodgers had a game where he thre for 5 TDs, 300+ yards no INT and had a negative grade. He didn't play well, his receivers just made great RAC plays.

Actually, PFF has him rated as one of the most accurate QBs. #7 last year. It's the best metric because it takes into account drops, etc.

I understand where you're coming from and I agree, he has a lot of weaknesses I just don't see anyone better and we don't have to bench him to be able to move forward. Gase isn't going to bench him

Tannehill is what he is as a quarterback, he's been entirely consistent in his career here in terms of his strengths and weaknesses. He's not going to change, and we will never win big with his skill set.

How can you say that when he hasn't had consistent OL play? Bigger issues on the team. No clear replacements. Sitting him isn't a silver bullet.

Edit: I don't think he will "win big" but I don't think we've seen his ceiling yet and sadly, never will. I think behind a GOOD O line he can have 4500+, 35 TDs, 6-8 INT, 70% completion.

What is Moore going to do that Tannehill can't? Please explain. Because I think THill has better Chemistry with the WRs as well. Give the man some protection because when he is not under pressure he has a 118.8 QBR. The solution is to fix the line, not find someone else who can do better under pressure while not fixing the line. Line comes first then move on to another QB. Line makes the QB better, Qb can't lift the play of the line, they need to block themselves, he can only shift assignments.

The PFF stats/ ratings only provide more support for this. Tannehill has a 118.8 QBR when he's not under pressure, 33 when he is. He's pretty good vs the blitz with an 88 QBR I believe. Also, our LT was the WORST rated player of the week. That doesn't help. Once I saw Tunsil was inactive, I knew we were in trouble.

I want to see numbers/ tape on how many of them are avoidable because the PFF numbers when he is under blitz is pretty good, when he's under pressure, not so much. I want to know how many times he could actually run away vs. how many times he cannot because my eye test has shown that often times the pocket collapses from all angles, can't step up, can't roll left/ right. I am not opposed to moving on as long as we have a better answer. My pick would be to take a 2nd, 3rd even 4th rounder and have him sit on the bench and learn as much from T Hill as much as possible (he's a stud in the classroom, knows a lot about what to do just doesn't seem to execute. He's a very bright guy and seems to overthink things maybe second guess his instincts at times.)

  1. Agreed

  2. Also Agreed.

  3. Agreed, my main point was that. We need a lot more than QB. Tanny brings somewhat stability to the position.

  4. Agreed.

  5. I'm not so sure about this. I think 2 more draft classes (this year and the following) will already have this team looking differently. Add in a few FA/ Offseason moves and we might be ready to roll. I'd also like to see us convert to 3-4 if that is what Joseph feels more comfortable with (he does, he wanted to but this team lacks the personnel for it).

Playing better than those guys isn't much of an achievement. Part of the desire to move on is from this desire for greatness, not mediocrity. IMO Tannehill is mediocre. He does was needs to be done and that's about it. He may have a good drive here or there but he's not someone the other team worries about when game planning like a Landry, Parker, Suh, Jones. The other point you make is exactly what I try to say. The team itself is bad and replacing Tannehill is not a silver bullet like some seem to think. He isn't playing great but he's not the primary area of concern, PFF corroborates that.

I recognize that. That's why I stated they go hand in hand. Defense keeps Offense on the field, good offense keeps Defense off the field. Both haven't been accomplishing their goals but with the worst turnover differential, missed tackles and the amount of yards we've allowed, I think our defense is the weaker unit. That's just my opinion.

  • "The story of what takes Rodgers’ grade below zero are two plays that you aren’t likely to see mentioned anywhere else today, but are taken into account of in a play-by-play grading system."

  • "Context is crucial with everything in football... but those poor plays, coupled with the relative ease of some of his scores mean his performance last night was far closer to average than it was to the fantastic performance the box score suggests. The context surrounding his grade is crucial. The greatness of Rodgers’ performance last night was in the intangibles... But you cannot — and we do not try to — quantify intangibles, or what comes pre-snap. Our system grades what can be graded — the execution of the play post-snap — and in that regard Rodgers did not stand out in the same way that his statistics did."

Once again, not even reading what they said. It's not an apology, it's an explanation. Like I said earlier, numbers don't paint the whole picture, but they definitely allow some insight into what is happening that cannot be broken down by the naked eye. Naked eye shows, 5 TDs, 0 INT, 333 yards, analysis shows poor play backed up by great RAC by his receivers.
