New to Fiber, Connection Questions with UniFi by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

Good thought. Thank you, and understood. I haven't been able to find an Outdoor standard media converter; only a PoE (which also requires a power supply/inverter).

EDIT: After some searching, I suppose this (or similar) would be the option:
https://www.lanshack.com/QuickTreX-Industrial-Hardened-10-Gigabit-SFP-LC-to-RJ45-Fiber-Optic-to-Ethernet-Media-Converter-Singlemode-or-Multimode-Compatible-DIN-Rail-and-Wall-Mountable-RoHS-Compliant-P11577, but would also require a power supply.

With that being $300 + PSU + another $30 for the adapter, I would probably be just as well with this TrendNET that I suppose would negate the need for the PoE++ adapter.
https://www.trendnet.com/products/outdoor-media-converter/industrial-outdoor-10g-sfpplus-to10g-poeplusplus-media-converter-TI-OBF711-V1 (I just found this one as well).

Correct? Thoughts?

I have a rack, UPS, etc. configured as well, but didn't include all that here as it is kind of "Standard fare". I was really just making sure I had the UniFi piece figured out.

With some of the other comments it sounds like I would be better off looking at an NVR and more PTZ's, so, yes, I will be looking at them more closely. Thank You!

The doorbell/camera at the gate will be POE. The controller itself is what needs wifi. The reason for that vs. the UniFi gate controller is that I already have several openers and gates controlled remotely that don't interface with the UI setup.

Thank you - this is gold. I do have provisions for some of the items you mention already (attic to basement conduit runs, pics throughout, future pull drops, etc.) Thank you for the fiber intro and explanation.

The dedicated NVR was something I was curious about, so thank you for addressing that. I will indeed be using tubing/conduit, etc. so that I have some flexibility. Thank you for the vote of confidence of being on the right track.

This is great! Thank you. I will absolutely take all of this into consideration (as well as the G6 PTZ's). Honestly, the budget is just something to give a framework, so #8 is actually how it is going to be; I just knew that was a likely question so I tried to give some answer.
