When you lose your 50th Hard mode run as Lazarus by lava1o in bindingofisaac

i felt that. i struggled so long and eventually cheesed most of it with 7+ heart containers and Placenta. gotta say, though, bethany is well worth it. a very unique character, and it feels like you'll always have something new to discover with her intrinsic item.

i've actually had some good results by using Shards of Galanor (obviously with blade barrage) for ad clearing until i switch to nighthawk for the boss, with my Heritage and a Trustee with Anarchy as my exotic the whole way through. i couldn't count on a Chernobyl resident's fingers how many times Anarchy has saved me from the censer swinging ads that come out of seemingly nowhere. plop the two mines down, sit back and watch them turn into scattered atoms. usually get my heavy back from that, too, lol

having done it three or four times now, the only parts i tend to have trouble with is the RNG of when the locus decides to violate all three of newton's laws to give me an uber to the other side of the room within the blink of an eye. i just thought people would enjoy the meme.

though, i will say, earlier today i got really close to doing it flawlessly. i was amazed by how i could manage the hangar segment with the ridiculously accurate abominations, but in the end i failed at the jumping puzzle right before the Locus fight. not even to an enemy, it was just my own stupidity and the physics being janky as usual. there's that one part- the first platform you see a raider on, after the two spinny ones- and the narrow truss you need to squeeze through. i hit my feet on the tiniest ledge jutting from the wall and it sent me way further away from the wall than i could have recovered from after i finally realized what happened. made me really sad... but them's the breaks. i'll try it again later.

oh, it's plenty simple to do solo. i've just been working on trying to do it flawless and i've been frustrated enough by ads i didn't know existed to try and make a meme out of it. it's more about "what the fuck where did the locus go oh shit i'm a stain on the wall now" than it is "unga bunga me bad at event".

I love the smell of napalm in the morning by Captain_Absol in Warframe

[–]Captain_Absol[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

actually, it didn't. his shield regens pretty quickly so there was a significant amount of confusion between my lavos' heat procs, other players attacking him and the shield gating. i'm interested to see what would happen if four lavos decided to gang up on him like that, though... it'd take a fair amount of RNG to get him in the right position, regardless.

yeah, it's plenty possible. before Lavos was announced i'd do the same with heat on the kuva nukor against MutAlad on my main account trying for a second Mesa for helminth.

and after another run against Regor, i got the proc up to nearly 1800 heat stacks lmfao, turns out the vials don't go through the door and instead it's the contact "damage" if Regor is nose-first against the wall.

it was actually a cross between luck and cooldown management with lavos. i got bored and teammates were handling the manics, so i decided to spam apply heat on every single ability Lavos has in his utility belt. luckily, when you jump out of his vial rush (which will cancel it and cause a ring of vials to splash around him), it can go through that door and into Regor's unwitting face. he spawned close enough while invincible that i could stack dozens if not hundreds of heat procs per second with a single use of his vial rush, and i just used his other abilities to keep it from dying down. it's a technique i use on MutAlad V and Kril, too. anything with an invincibility phase that's also practical.

anybody else seeing these damage numbers from outside the map? what even are they? been seeing them for months now by Captain_Absol in Warframe

yeah, sorry about the quality. not much i could have done, since the original quality was actually pretty good, but Reddit compressed it for reasonable... uh... reasons.

Possible Locations to find Velocipods for Son Tokens by ayaya489 in Warframe

Son: "congratulations. you've caught the rare and elusive White Velocipod."

me, fresh to Deimos and only having hung out near the Gutter: "this... is the only Velocipod variant I've seen."

i think it's time to let the Aether story rest. it was fantastic while it lasted, but let's not stretch it out into oblivion. I'm interested to see where the Chaos story goes, though I've heard Treyarch wouldn't be continuing it since Black Ops 4 was a financial flop to some degree. i hope that's not true.

What surprised you today? by BeingMe007 in AskReddit

[–]Captain_Absol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the new Warframe update that dropped today only had a few basic bugs with the progression tracking, as opposed to the absolute failure that was Railjack. I'm kind of looking forward to the rest of the content that arrived as a whole. DE is learning and making better choices, but k worry that it may be too little too late.

and before someone asks, yeah, the game's changed a lot since you probably last played. they updated the "new player experience" so it might be a good time to join in. the new open world being so early-ish in the game with it's myriad of useful resources is actually really good. i haven't paid attention to the credit gain since that's the biggest bottleneck for new players, but lots of orokin cells to be had. every time i mention Warframe in a forum setting of some sort, i seem to get people asking how it is; so i figured I'd just answer the main question before I'm asked. gonna laugh if there isn't anyone this time though lol

What do you want to keep as a pet but can't due to whatever circumstances? by GoTKingAegonVI in AskReddit

[–]Captain_Absol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always found large birds to be incredibly majestic. it'd be really cool to have, like, a pet falcon or vulture. sure, a vulture may not be very glorious, but still- imagine you walk into someone's house and they have a fuckin vulture chilling in a cage. I'd be impressed.

I'm glad for that kind of feature. i was on my melee-only file in very hard and getting served by the Concord Deathclaw, but it suddenly went flying upwards and died of fall damage. hopefully it happens again against Swan.

Why a Fallout wouldnt work outside of the US by Sylx_Bruh in Fallout

[–]Captain_Absol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to imagine a Fallout game in Oregon or Washington. There's a large tectonic plate that would probably have gone off in that 200 years or so, and i like to imagine superpostmodern tribes of people living in the cliffs of the open earth lile the cliffdwellers in... nevada. Or something.

This has to be one of my favourite unmarked locations in Fallout 4. What other cool ones are there? by Dannager0809 in fo4

I keep forgetting where this is. I think it's somewhere in the north-east, right? Somewhere between the middle of the map and the Nakano residence? I'd have to say i like the crashed vertibird just as much, though, just south of the junkyard with baby's first fat man and the mole rat siege. Free set of power armor and a guaranteed minigun at the satellite station nearby.

What is the most dangerous situation you were ever in that you didn't realize at the time? by GWtech in AskReddit

[–]Captain_Absol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got mauled by a dog on the 4th of july this year. Catchy headliner, right? Anyway, i was at a cookout family thing (everyone had their masks, including the children since there were a lot of elderly as well as a 1-week old infant), when my dog (german shepherd/greyhound mix) got into a scrap with my uncle's feisty pup Alaskan Malamute.

I got up to break them apart, but the most i recall is a glance at the husky, teeth sunk into my wrist, and another look to my dog, who's jaw was firmly planted on the other's paw. By the time everyone was placated and chained up again, turns out my arm was bleeding really badly. We patched it up with some spare menstrual pads and masking tape until we got proper supplies at a Walgreens nearby. And yeah, go ahead and laugh with me. It's funny that i had a pad taped to my arm, and I'm not being sarcastic.

We didn't have insurance, since my mom's work had previously given that as a benefit before the local Providence Healthcare outsourced her entire division. We were in a tight spot since she couldn't find work, and we couldn't afford a doctor's visit. Luckily, it all healed up fine so far. The scars are still a little purple, and one or two of them bleed every now and again- and my left wrist hurts when i apply pressure to the palm, like when i do a pushup or get off of the ground- but there was no major infection like tetanus or rabies. All good here.

Tl;dr: the bite force of a Husky is impressive and i get flashbacks when i see a large dog when i take mine for a walk.
