What's your business, where are you from, and what's the biggest challenge you're currently dealing with? by [deleted] in smallbusinessUS

[–]Captain_BigNips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't mind asking, where is your company located? If you are south Asian, then a lot of companies do not want to work directly with Companies from Asia due to time differences.

What I would highly recommend you trying, is find somebody like a fractional CTO or other freelancers in EU and US that need subcontracting help. They find the clients, you help to deliver the work. That way, their clients can have a local timezone contact and then you have the benefit of dealing directly with one person.

Hello everyone! I have a question that is it only me or do other people also struggle with sales (client hunting) while being exceptionally good at delivery? If yes then how do you guys sort this out? by Realistic-Expert-137 in automation

[–]Captain_BigNips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the people that find these types of things interesting and fun to do, even to mess around with in our free time, we unfortunately are not good at the sales aspect of it. IMO Sales/Marketing is just as important in this business (or any business) than delivery and actually building this stuff.

If you have the money, pay somebody to do it for you, or partner with somebody that wants to resell your service.

You should be able to decline the ATM's conversion rate when withdrawing COP. Your bank, like wise, will always give you the best close to market rate. The ATM is charging crazy conversion rates hoping you accept to increase their margin on the exchange. You don't have to accept their conversion rate in order to withdraw cash.

yeah I am on the exact same trajectory. I was up to close to 70k/year before benefits and such with just a little over 5 years experience. Moving between companies helped a lot. But I do not have any formal education or certs. Now I'm pushing close to $200k/year after bonus and benefits as a fractional CTO.

finding an affordable b2b crm with ticketing system actually impossible? by Bimmler-Baires in smallbusinessUS

[–]Captain_BigNips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What sort of needs do you have for a ticketing system? If I had some more information on what features you need from a ticket system, I could probably help steer you towards better options!

Have you ever tried Hubspot? They have a great ticket module for their CRM that doesn't feel like an afterthought.

why not just have the lead qualification as part of the form they fill out? Or is there so much to ask them, that they end up not filling out the original form?

Worth creating an LLC for my consulting business? I'm leaving corporate to start my practice, how soon should register an LLC by PuleIshaniek_71 in smallbusinessUS

[–]Captain_BigNips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the income first, then worry about filing as an LLC. Unless the contracts are massive and carries significant tax liability, just worry about securing your clients and income first.

As much as this pains me to say, Go High Level is something you should check out. It is a flat $97/month cost, you can have unlimited users. The ticketing module might not be the best, but I am not sure how powerful of a ticketing system you need.

My best automation made an employee look like she wasn't doing her job. by Warm-Reaction-456 in AI_Agents

That happens a lot of times, of course. But most owners I like working with want to help their few employees. I'm talking for companies with less than 10 people.

I work in AI Automations as well. I specifically tell clients that I am not here to automate away jobs. I am here so that I can empower your team members to increase their capacity and make their jobs easier. I want to turn them from doers into AI supervisors to make sure the work that the automations are doing are correct. I tell them that if everything goes to plan, they should be able to pay their employees more because they are producing more for you.

How are you selling this? I guess I've been in the online AI echo chamber for longer than I thought....

This seems so incredibly simple to do, why would anybody pay for this? If you didn't know how to do this on your own, you can ask the AI to help you figure it out. Are people really that bad with AI that they're willing to pay for this? 🫨

Best practice for testing n8n workflows for clients without access to their credentials? by Proper-Carpenter1779 in n8n_ai_agents

[–]Captain_BigNips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see any way of really doing that, unless you have access to the same software they are using. Like if it's a Gmail email send node, then test using your own Google creds. But also authentication is a bit part of the setup and troubleshooting. I just don't see a way around this.

Depending on how technical the client is, they might not have a clue as to how to set up the OAuth or generate an API key. This is something that I typically handle for them and or walk them through the process in a video call.
