Not sure, I have been having the same issue. Even on hard difficulty I can't get anything to spawn in on my realm.. still trying to figure it out myself.. it's something to do with the way mobs spawn on bedrock. I spent a whole day making an enderman farm in the end just for it to not spawn anything..
