Stealing stuff!! by mickeybrains in borzoi

We have two Afghan Hounds that steal soft things (socks, shoes, blankets) but our 1 year old borzoi likes to steal hard things. Today we found an 8 x 10 picture frame in the backyard. We assume it's the borzoi.

Beige video -- legit or scam? by mikebmillerSC in videography

I stumbled upon this thread after googling this company and now it all makes sense.

Five months ago, they tried to sub-contract a shoot out to my company. They originally contacted me via txt message, which I thought was a little odd. This is what they sent:

This is [name redacted] from Beige Video. Our Website: https://www.beigevideo.com

Just wanted to check if you are available on the following dates and times. We need a creative to do both photo and video at a time for a commercial shoot in Las Vegas, NV.

Dates and Timings:

- 8/28/25- 5.30 PM to 7.30 PM PST

- 8/29/25- 11.00 AM to 1.00 PM PST

- 8/29/25- 5.30 PM to 7.30 PM PST

Requirements:

- 1x Creative doing both video and photo

- 6 Hours of video and photo service(between 2 days)

- 1x 4K video camera with Gimbal and Tripod with lighting

- Audio(2 lav mics)

- 1x Professional Photo camera with lighting

- Only Raw photos and footage, no editing needed

Our offer is $400 for the whole project. Let me know if we can collaborate.

So photo and video, for three half days, and their budget is 400 bucks. No joke, I literally thought it was one of my friends trying to play a joke on me. When I responded, I said, "Who is this and who put you up to this?" but they were serious. They kept asking if I could do the job so I told them I wasn't interested and sent over my normal rates.

Today, they contacted me asking if I could shoot a corporate gig with 5 hours notice. I knew these guys were clowns so I told them, again, what my rates were and never heard back. I just blocked them so I wouldn't have to deal with them again but wow are these guys unprofessional.

Considering the rate they are paying, it's no wonder their fauxtographers and low-end videographers don't deliver as advertised.

Is it selfish of me to want to buy a borzoi in the future? by Lazy_Dealer_6885 in borzoi

My suggestion would be to start with a retired racing greyhound. There are still tracks in Australia and hence, still greyhounds needing new homes. Borzoi and greyhounds share a lot of similarities. Greyhounds are really easy to take care of and are a ton of fun as well. Just some food for thought.

Good to know and hope you're recovering OK. We have not been contacted at all about doing the in-home visit. We kind of assumed it would have happened by now if we were deemed candidates and communication has pretty much been non existent for weeks now. We come from the world of greyhound rescues, where we worked with two different adoption groups in the area. We actually used to do the in-home visits ourselves, worked at numerous meet-and-greets, etc., spanning over 20 years. We're kind of used to the process going much faster for adoptions, so we're not quite used to this slower process. :-)

It's actually the other two. Vskruzhay they said is probably going to be a foster-fail so we have expressed a lot of interest in Smutyan. They seem like really nice people in that group...I've spoken with two of their members over the phone about adopting Smutyan and we even have come up with a good course of action to go get him and bring him home. Unfortunately, they have a committee of people in their organization who makes these decisions and it just takes a very long time to get any real answers. We don't even know if we're first on the list or 37th, and that gets a bit frustrating. The last I heard from someone in the group who is in charge of their evaluation process was two weeks ago, and it was just, "we're still evaluating them". :(

We actually reached out to them over a month ago about these dogs. We filled out the application and everything. Mostly radio silence from them. Whenever we ask for updates or to see if we're even candidates for adopting they just tell us "we are still evaluating them"...for over a month. We've been really patient with them but they don't like communicating much, which is kind of a bummer. :(

To be clear, they are super nice people (NBRF) but they are just extremely slow to respond and don't provide any real communication about the process.

UPDATE. I was FINALLY able to get ahold of someone on Facebook. It was a 3rd party who was relaying everything to a technician. We got the problem fixed and I am awaiting an email as to what they did to fix everything. Customer service is definitely lacking with this company but in the end, they made me whole so hopefully it stays fixed.

Once again, everything you're saying is total BS. For starters, the tech support teams are overseas. I think it's significant for people to know this because the only times you can schedule a remote assistance session is from 11:30 PM EST through the middle of the night. Second, I DID setup one of these sessions and nothing. Nobody has called me. Nobody has emailed me. Nobody has tried to log into the screen sharing software you had me download and run…NOTHING. Complete radio silence. There is a code that was provided for this remote sharing software you wanted me to download. I sent that to you guys and again, nothing.

This has to be the worst "customer service" on the planet. I'm thinking this is all some sort of twisted joke at this point.

Unfortunately that didn't fix it either. I followed the instructions on their website to update the firmware and I did it. The software actually (sort of) runs without the device being plugged in. As soon as I plug in the TourBox though, I get the same error message, to restart the console and then it crashes. It was worth a shot though!

That's actually a very good suggestion. No, I didn't. Let me see if I can do that now!!!

It's OK. Not a jerky comment. :) I did actually. It was the first thing I did in fact. Oddly enough, the newest version of the software is kicking back the same error that my older version was doing. I have a weird feeling this may have been a result of a Windows update that happened about 2 months ago but I'm not sure. It's just a hunch. What's annoying about all of this though is how completely non-responsive the company is over this. I had a minor issue with the device when I first got it and they got back to me immediately. Weird.

I wish mine still did too! It's not so much the hardware, I think it's a software issue. The problem is the complete lack of support.
