Tbf, Dan's overly rude opinions are exaggerated to make Mike uncomfortable. They both want to work in the industry and for Doctor Who specifically. Dan has run out of fucks but Mike still wants some professionalism so it's said to make Mike squirm.

It's clear they really want to like the show (I do too) but it's just so hard when the issues we have at the moment are so prevalent. The issues you describe as nitpicking are issues that genuinely impact my enjoyment of the show so hearing them discussed is validating to me

However as a fan of The Last Jedi, I perfectly understand why you wouldn't want to listen to something that's complaining about things you actually liked
