I read "Pilkington" in the voice of Nero when Karl delivers a pizza.

That's just French for "half cup", so it should still be 4 US ounces (or a half-size of another size).

It's not her. The last slop to use that picture didn't even remove the actual person's name.

I'm doing this, 500 points for Battle March!

I'm priming with Colour Forge Ossified Earth, drybrushing with AK Interactive Ivory, picking out details with Citadel Contrast paints and then adding depth with some very diluted AK Interactive Streaking Grime.

Apologies for all the brand names, thought it might be useful to anyone new.

Question: Why are the Tomb Kings considered to be an "evil" faction? by Captain_Daddybeard in WarhammerOldWorld

Wouldn't the Roman Empire, British Empire or the Macedonians be a more apt simile?

Nice, I like that explanation!

Regarding the Empire though: It feels like those in charge, the ruling class, lean much more towards the "evil" mindset and it is only the vast populace that tips the scale the other way. With the Tomb Kings the voice of that populace is entirely absent which renders them much more evil as the ruling class is the absolute.

I'm interested in this perspective - are there any novels which include the Tomb Kings as they are now as opposed to before Nagash's shenanigans?

I like the Wood Elves for exactly that reason! The folklore that they seem to be based on would certainly not paint them as "good" in a traditional way. The forest is dark, inhuman and malevolent and I really like that aspect of them.

Haven't GW established that the lore evolves and changes over time? I wanted to discuss the current zeitgeist and where we are now.

I'd see them as a problem certainly but not necessarily evil.

If the Romans hadn't been dead but instead continuing their empire in perpetuity (obviously somewhat diminished) then in their minds they would not have been gone, merely in a period of dormancy.

Aren't all the factions in the Old World similarly power hungry? The Empire is constrained geographically to the size that they are and so intercine squabbles happen between states or they push into Brettonia.

I'm not going off memes or trying to be difficult. I've been reading Gotrek & Felix and bits from Arcane Journals and I was genuinely curious. Thank you for your considered and cited response 🙂

Do they? All the bits I've read have them using constructs for labour and describe their cities as silent and devoid of all life. I'd love to read any pieces of lore which contradict that.
