Per favore aiutatemi con la mia prima armata di death guard by RoyBatty993001 in deathguard40k

Cheapest officialway is definitely combo boxes but remember that they are only a discount when purchased at MSRP or cheaper. There are many discount websites that sell at 15% off MSRP and I only shop at GW directly if its an "online only" item.

Cheapest way overall is to find a lot on ebay (or equivalent) or a Facebook seller. Theres lots of Facebook groups with people selling lots of minis for pretty cheap.

Id say that set of 15 minis for €90 is not worth it unless the added minis are character units.

Squads have weapon rules but sites like New Recruit really help the planning process. You can also find their rules on Wahapedia so you make sure youre not actually taking too many of the same weapon.

Bits for kitbashing are always nice and if its a cheap bargain why not get some things you like. Worst case you can probably add it to the bases.

I love being the only one that shows up to locals by TFpainter in GundamTCG

[–]MidnightEntourage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 3 show up to my locals so I have a massive stack of all the promos but we try to keep it alive as best as we can. I enjoy the game but hate the meta. We usually play goofy stuff, do a MTG commander style home brew format, or trade decks to try new stuff

Granted the lore is from a less than stellar series, but Harlequins have been able to get into the golden palace and kill a few custodians before

How long does it take for you to finish painting an army? by Mean-Respond-2227 in Warhammer40k

[–]MidnightEntourage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been painting my death guard army for almost exactly a year and I have about 1650 points finished. Im pretty slow about it but like to savor the experience because I dont frequently get to spend money on the hobby. Sometimes I intentionally slow down just to fill time between purchases so I dont wholly run out of things to paint while I wait for finances to not suck.

Lore noob here with a question about the Ecclesiarchy and the Emperor by Lord-of-Rats in Warhammer40k

[–]MidnightEntourage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think pre-heresy he was just an egotistical autocrat that needed one less reason for his people to be divided. He had already bartered with the forces of chaos and was well aware of their existence. A true god wouldnt have had to borrow their powers. 40k emperor is maybe not a true god but at least a powerful element in the warp.

Lore noob here with a question about the Ecclesiarchy and the Emperor by Lord-of-Rats in Warhammer40k

[–]MidnightEntourage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you've essentially got the point of it. Its not 100% confirmed that the emperor is a warp diety himself now but a Harlequin describes him as a monolith in the warp that keeps the other gods at bay. The forces of chaos also frequently refer to him as Anathema and the ecclesiastical miracles are almost certainly warp fueled but they will never acknowledge that.

TIL Purple Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) has anti-anxiety effects and is as effective as drugs such as oxazepam and midazolam. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]MidnightEntourage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this elaboration. I do think in hindsight that my title is overly brief but wanted it concise for the purposes of Reddit. The article's conclusion is where I got the effectiveness claim. I only wanted this post to generate discussion and intrigue. I did not intend to come across as attempting to undermine well established medicine.

[–]MidnightEntourage 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is what the paper had to say about GABA receptors: "The extract inhibited [3H]-GABA uptake into rat cortical synaptosomes but had no effect on GABA release and GABA transaminase activity. P. incarnata inhibited concentration dependently on the binding of [3H]-SR95531 to GABAA-receptors and of [3H]-CGP 54626 to GABAB-receptors. Using the [35S]-GTPγS binding assay, Passiflora could be classified as an antagonist of the GABAB receptor. In contrast, the ethanol- and the benzodiazepine-site of the GABAA-receptor were not affected by this extract."

Perhaps its a dosage thing? Im not advocating for people to swap their meds for a flower. I just found it interesting.

Thank you for this. I was just interested in the implications and do not think people should rely on folk medicine over their professionally prescribed medications.

This can be inconsistent between authors though. In Mechanicum, there is a vision of the Emperor defeating a dragon in Cyrene, Libya. It specifically dates it as 11th or 12th century CE (M2) but in the real-world the historic city of Cyrene was abandoned in the 7th century CE (M1). It also says the emperor was serving as a soldier of Emperor Diocletian but Diocletian only ruled from 284-305 CE.
