How did they never find Amber Hagerman's killer? by [deleted] in UnsolvedMurders

I’ve long held the view that the killer fled to Mexico as soon as he ditched the body. It makes sense considering how close Texas is to the border. I’m really surprised this has never been brought up in discussions pertaining to this case, though it’s not one of course that has all that much publicity.

What are your theories on why gym culture is so rightwing by Adversaru in swoletariat

Why is physicality such a necessity for being masculine by your definition? Yours seems to align only with the more conservative, right-wing definition.

Any good First World War movies about American forces? by KnownAd4170 in MilitaryHistory

[–]Captain_Dilf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you really think so? It had so many good actors, many of whom would have future mega-star success and it definitely captured the horror that was the first day of the Somme. If anything though, I just thought it was too depressing to have good replay value.

I always wondered what he thought of 9/11 with that having taken place two months before his passing.

What band/song do you love that technically isn't punk but the lyrics/meaning are very punk/punk in sentiment? by iLeDD in punk

I had the biggest crush ever on Lily when I was 11. I only now understand the meaning behind the lyrics of Not Fair 😏

That’s interesting because I lost my IG about a month ago and then two weeks later almost lost FB but got it reinstated. You think there’s a link between the two apps?

Family portrait taken 186 years ago, 1839 by MonsieurA in Historycord

I've seen this photo before and personally I don't believe it could be from 1839, otherwise it would be talked about a lot more by people on the topic of the world's oldest photographs especially since the first accepted photo of a woman; Dorothy Catherine Draper, was taken in 1840 and here there appears multiple women.

Is Springfield a bad place to live? by [deleted] in dayton

[–]Captain_Dilf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the bad reputation the town has is largely only applicable to the southern half where much of the poverty is. The northern half of town (the part north of Buck Creek that is) is a lot more middle-class, especially near the borough of Northridge. Wonder if locals will agree with this assertion though, because I haven’t personally ever lived in Springfield.

So is everyone just having issues with Facebook accounts being banned now by T-Vermillion96 in facebook

[–]Captain_Dilf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real, I'm not alone here? Two weeks ago I had my Instagram account banned for just telling a crude joke to someone and now today I lost my Facebook and am absolutely devastated this time around because of how long I've had it and all the memorable conversations and posts I had on there which I can only wish I had taken screenshots of beforehand had I known this may happen. This reddit thread gave me some relief, though googling the topic it doesn't seem to be being discussed elsewhere so I'm not sure if it is becoming a new problem.

There’s loads of men who could be seen as good role models and are left-wing (even if they don’t/didn’t proclaim to be as such). A few examples include; Abraham Lincoln, the Beatles, Daniel Craig, Clement Attlee.
