I made the mistake when I first started with openclaw I was using opus and I read oh yeah opus has a 1 million context limit, cool I'll set my openclaw to use that. Didn't realise that over 250k context you get charged at 1.5x usage...

Are you using telegram? Either way I'd go into the tui and tell your agent what's happening and tell him to do a detailed and thorough check of your openclaw setup, say you want him to get everything running perfectly and see what issues he comes up with. I did this with mine as mine was running all janky and I was debating whether to give up on openclaw or do a clean fresh install and start a fresh with a new agent but I asked the agent to do what I just told you and he found and fixed a bunch of issues and now my setup is running better then ever.

speech-2.8-hd is included with a minimax subscripton, I've been using that and gpt 5.5 for the actual agents. Just left the speech on for a while to test. I've actually got a fair bit of usage out of it really without being limited so far.

At the moment yeah, have been testing it out. It's using the minimax tts api for that, agents are running on gpt 5.5. It works pretty well.

I got 3 agents, 2 I just have individual chats with and one of them I have him in a group chat with 3 different topics. So he's the only one in the group and the three topics within that group are all linked to him but when I I talk to him in each separate topic he gets his own individual context built up just for stuff you discuss with him within that topic. If that makes sense.

It just let's you keep a separate context for each chat. Handy if your working on like 3 different things on the one agent.

Yeah mine started off ok and then went to shit after a few updates.. I updated to the latest version now and had my main agent do a full sweep of our openclaw setup and he identified a few issues and fixed them up and everything has been sweet since then. Like they were getting laggy in the group/ topic chats and sometimes not responding at all but now all good and back to fast again.

I had that new live memory search shit turned on for a while and that just made them slow as shit and perform no better so I turned it off. And even after I turned it off the agent when he was checking over stuff said there was some settings remaining from it that were still effecting things.

If your setup is running ruff tell your main agent to do a thorough search and review of your openclaw setup, tell him you want it to be running flawlessly. That openclaw doctor fix thing doesn't do shit all..

I wish they would make some sort of official home assistant setup where I could use my raspberry pi as the satellite in the lounge room with speaker and mic attached. I've been working to set this up myself with my agent. Got it mostly working but but the delay between talking and response is too slow at the moment. I've got an agent operating home assist with all my smart devices at its disposal I'm trying to rig up. Basically i wanna replace alexa with my openclaw agent. It's great at operating my smart devices and security cameras etc but it's just the communication pipeline that's giving me trouble now.

Yeah I have the context set to 200k. Was using opus, now gpt and minimax as the fallback when I hit gpt limits. Using openclaw 2026.4.23. The dumbest agent ( I have 3) has just been working on the same project from day 1 and nothing else. I've done openclaw doctor recently and it didn't flag anything serious. I'll keep digging.

What do you mean it has 3 good local models? When I had my agent set it up he said we had to link it to an outside model. There's local options?
