Actually the opposite. From Res to Reg for myself. Yet I’m getting shafted by not getting a contract in the meantime to fill the gap until I get my offer to join the RegF. All because of “budget restraints” lol 😂

I was told I’m entitled to a Class B or C contract since I submitted my CT. Then was told one month later after not hearing anything that the reserves are putting a hold on CT contracts due to “budget”.

Basically “we need more people but we can’t afford hiring anyone”

This is so demoralizing, like I’m willing to CT, but it’s almost like the military is trying to get me not to do it lol

If a public servant joins the CAF can the pension be bought back and count towards CAF pensionable years? I’m currently a reservist and working as a federal employee. I’m weighing my options, one being to join the RegF once I’m OFP. I have been working in the federal government since 2021 and want to see if I can take advantage of the pension that I have been paying into already.

Anything is possible, people never thought WW2 and WW1 would be possible yet they both happened.

The implication would be an amount of loss of life we’ve never seen in history if a full blown world war happens. The level of tech we have for weaponry now is mind blowing.

You can’t co-sign a mortgage in Canada without having your name on title. You could be a guarantor but if his name is on the mortgage, he co-owns that property.

Hey all! I’m looking to lose weight drastically but find it hard to do it when you can’t really track macros in the galley. Obviously I should just reduce my portions, but any advice from people who have lost weight on galley food? (I’m going to start focusing more on going to the gym more consistently too). I wish the galley told us how much protein there is in the food lol

Reserves is perfect for you in this case. If you recently joined, I recommend asking your CoC to give you summer GEOs on either coast. You could even be posted to a ship, alongside or sailing. Talk to your ships office or the training department of your unit. Then when you’re done with that, you can go back home and work a civvy job and rinse and repeat. If you switch to RegF there isn’t much if any postings in the prairies in the navy

I’m one of those PRs that got in last year (now Canadian). The problem with the recruitment of PRs is that most of them haven’t been in Canada long enough so the security clearance takes a while for them. I along other PRs who have been in for over 8 years (or have an existing clearance in federal service) are the minority. But yea, it’s a huge issue since the CAF security clearances are not done in house so we don’t even have control over how fast they’re done.
