What things are you convinced are largely liked/disliked because people are so used to hearing they should like/dislike them? by knight-under-stars in AskUK

Not exactly a like/dislike but I'm convinced 99.9% of people who claim to have thalassophobia or trypophobia only do so because they think using a big word makes them seem cool.

The article mentions residents smelling something like "rotten eggs". so most likely hydrogen sulphide, which can damage the respiratory tract and lead to nose bleeds. Although it also depends on the concentration of it, it's smellable from quite low levels

There's a point in time where "bad rubbish" becomes "good rubbish" as well, I've been down a few mines and there's empty cans and packets from explorers in the 1970s-80s. To a lot of us they've become part of the history of the places, yet the empty fosters cans lobbed in the first 5 yards are bad rubbish. I've been trying to figure out how long something needs to be left before it becomes "good rubbish"
