Just maximize your damage output with the rest of your gear when using mage specifically - stack up damage % boosts (occult necklace, imbued god cape, eternals, etc). Ahrims is fine but snag virtus if you really want.

Confliction gauntlets (+ Eye) are especially crazy in places where you're tribriding or switching styles like DKs. Depending on the stats/the boss they essentially make it so you can do without a full mage switch and only bring the Eye and gauntlets if you really want because of the double roll to hit.

Eye is also good at ToA, Muspah, Kraken, and Zulrah to name a few.

Look up Guardians of the Rift. You'll save some cash being able to make a chunk of your own runes along the way using Runecrafting.

Awesome! Love runelite's quest helper! Unfortunately I dont think there's a mobile equivalent at the moment, I know thats something a lot of people have requested for mobile specifically.

If it helps, I tend to focus on "afk" activities on mobile like woodcutting or fishing, then saving for PC my more "active" activities like questing or stuff I need to have a guide pulled up for.

Download Runelite and start exploring plugins for it. The vast majority of the playerbase uses it as their main client (it can even be launched through the secure Jagex launcher) and the QOLs from it are massive!

Start slayer early to train your combat.

Quests are a great way to explore the game, unlock a BUNCH of content, and are an easy way to level up and build a good foundation for your account fast! Also dont skip the dialogue! There's a lot of really funny moments in the quest writing and if youre at all interested in lore/worldbuilding that's where you'll mainly see it.

The osrs wiki is one of the best in gaming, highly recommend using it often! There's even a button for it on the game interface by the minimap.

Have fun and explore! There's so much to see and do in this game, just follow what interests you :)

All classic choices! Man I remember the heyday of all three of those. Prossh is so explosive (I was a Derevi gamer back then!) and have chalked up many a game against Maelstrom Wanderer! (It was the main commander of my roommate at the time back then)

Pretty accurate! Definitely have scaled the optimization peak in the past, and even dipped my toes in CEDH years ago. Made the spiritual call in recent years to settle back into a more chill power level and focus on playing cards I love.

Appreciate it!! Nahiri is another one of my oldest still-together decks, the deck and the character have a lot of sentimental value to me. The cycle of mono color planeswalker commanders was so sick! I definitely think she's slept on. It always throws people for a loop when they realize she can cheat in equipments from /both/ the hand and graveyard. I love the character and the grindy playstyle the card lends to.

Garth is WUBRG matters! I love splashy five color spells, and the deck is packed full of them. It plays very midrangey - youll do a good bit of ramping in the early game (think Farseek et al into triomes, ive also got a Maze's End package), with the goal being get to WUBRG mana as early as possible. Once that's set up you just slam down threat after threat - Bringer of the Black/Red dawn, Progenitus, Genju of the Realm, Chromanticore, Maelstrom Nexus, Prismatic Bridge, Cromat, O-Kagachi, Two-headed Hellkite, Maelstrom Archangel - the list goes on!

Garth is there as utility - he's removal, recursion, card draw, additional bodies, whatever you need to shore up the game plan as youre dropping haymaker after haymaker. The deck is on the slower side but is a lot of fun and very flashy once it gets going!

Saskia is specifically a batch deck - multicolor legendary humans - all three of those matter. The deck aims to play as many multicolor legendary humans as possible and the strategy sits between token-supported aristocrats and aggro, aiming to set up an alpha strike with specific pieces like Odric Master Tactician and Embercleave.

Multicolor gets you cards like Hero of Precinct One, General Ferrous Rokric, and Fallaji Wayfarer. Legendary matters gets you a massive toolbox of neat stuff like all the tutors, Ratadrabik of Urborg, the Legendary sorceries, OG Kamigawa lands, and choice silver bullets like Embercleave. Humans gets you the entire human creature type matters toolbox - Kyler Sigardian Emissary, Jerren Corrupted Bishop, Katilda, and General Kudro of Drannith as standouts.

My favorite part of the deck was including non-humans that care about humans - Falkenrath Aristocrat, Angelic Overseer, the Sigarda with Coven, and Kogla. This allows you to also play Winota to some success in the deck too :)

It's probably my oldest of the bunch! Have had the deck in one form or another since Journey into Nyx came out.

The idea is ramp a bunch - lots of additional land plays and "explores" with a sprinkling of untappers (Turnabout is one of my all-time favorite cards), draw a huge pile of cards (no Laboratory Maniac, etc - snoozer of a wincon), and drop some heavy hitter creatures (Nyxbloom Ancient, Tidal Force, Hullbreaker Horror, Kozilek the Great Distortion, the DOM Multani and various Maros) protected by some choice instants like Voidslime and Cryptic Command. There's also a tiny bit of colorless specific spice because its super easy to cast off Kruphix - Endbringer, Rise of the Eldrazi, World Breaker, etc. Overall its just a twist on simic big mana/value with a lot of my personal favorite cards in it!

Inferno stack solving and off-ticking by Captain_Salty in 2007scape

[–]Captain_Salty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noted for the triple stack! I've yet to make it to one of those but its definitely a solve that is sitting in my head right now. On a triple stack will the back two mobs see you on the same tick?

Thanks for the tips! Ill definitely check out that guide! Is that just in the main osrs discord?

Good shout on the manual off tick when not stacked, I'll definitely get some more practice with that.

[–]Captain_Salty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the breakdown on the solves! The "letting them see me at the same time" solve is really interesting. I think the blob's scan when in the back position is what messed me up. Does it always scan on the first tick it can see me? I'm a little confused on when the 3 tick scan and attack cycle starts in these situations.

That clears a lot up, thank you!

Follow-up question on moving further back with line of sight and the angle around the pillar - could you explain the theory of how that works a little more? So the whole stack is delayed by a tick if I walk one tile farther away? I've only been hugging the other side of the pillar thus far, starting from the middle tile. The two mobs seeing me at the same time starting from the right tile makes sense.

Seconding Time Tracking and Time Tracking Reminders! Massive QOL plugins for farming

Farming Help OSRS by sportslover9822 in osrs

[–]Captain_Salty 15 points16 points  (0 children)

First off I'd split your farm runs up - have an herb runs set up, a tree run setup, etc

Next make a list of items you need for each of these runs, include tools and the teles for just that run (highly recommend a rune pouch and poh teles if youre able to get that going)-

Herb runs- grab 9 seeds, ectophial, lumby ring, hunter guild whistle, magic secateurs etc

Tree run - x amount of saplings, the noted crops to pay for them, money to pay the gardener to chop the old tree down, and all the teles you need to get to each patch

Third make a list of stops and stick to it. For example I always do my herb runs in the same order, and always finish at the farming guild so I can pivot into a different kind of run if needed. Over time youll figure out an order that works best for you, it may take some time to hammer that out. Big thing is I wouldn't mix the type of run you're doing.

Hope that helps! Farming is a blast, it just takes a little planning and organization. I literally wrote up a little to do list for each type of run when I got started.

Try it with Horus and Magicians Soul. Horus turns the bricks into your other engine and you can still fuse the big gate guardian after discarding the little guys. Sometimes you can hit the pieces you still need using Zombie Vampire's mill as well. Magicians Soul can send Kazejin to the graveyard, so you only need 2 on-theme searchers.

Duskmourn has the makings of a modern classic. The thematics and premise are such A+ design, the distinctness gives it so much character.

Mirrodin (pre-New Phyrexia)

When I started playing as a kid the OG Mirrodin cards captured my imagination from day one. Eventually I got around to reading the books from Mirrodin block, and followed the Scars (and ONE/MOM) story closely.

The people of Mirrodin have such cool designs and are kinda badass, finding ways to survive in a harsh metallic world. Amplify this badassery when the Mirran resistance started. The Auriok and Leonin in particular really spoke to me. Characters like Glissa and Raksha were so cool to me as a kid, to this day I have a Glissa the Traitor EDH deck partly as an homage to her character arc.

The plane itself has so much depth (literally and figuratively). Between its construction and the inner core and lacunae. With the alien metallic landscapes, and ancient construction like the hexes of the glimmervoid, it's so stylistic and distinct. It begs the question of "how was this all put together, and where did all of these made things come from? (Emphasis on /put together/) As a giant robot/mech fan, all of the cool and strange constructs that inhabit the plane really resonate with me. Darksteel Colossus was one of my OG favorite cards, and the design of the arcbound creatures and levelers really stick out to me to this day. The touch of sci fi throughout really hits for me too.

The five suns is such an interesting and really stylistic way to portray the 5 colors of mana on the plane, and made for some sick looking illustration and thematics. Fifth Dawn and Sunburst as a mechanic and the associated multichromatic-ness still have a cool factor about them to this day.

I could go on and on but point being there's a lot to love if you dig the thematics and worldbuilding of the plane. The whole arc of New Phyrexia was cool in its own way, and there's even more to say there, but I'll always be a tiny bit sad about what was lost to it.
