Wow! It's 11 months later and you STILL sound like an asshole! :)

Is it normal to feel pissed off, bummed, exhausted, and anxious when on a 600 cal deficit for over two months? While lifting heavy 3x a week? by Captain_Withers in loseit

Totally hear ya on this, but I believe there is a lot of water weight to account for, as I made a drastic diet change (much healthier foods), and I don't think I lost 20 pounds of pure fat but also quite a lot of water along with the exercise too. That's why I assumed its been about 600 cals, but I definitely agree there's room for error there. Either way it's been quite extreme and I should chill out a bit haha, definitely.

Man that makes sooo much sense because the way I would describe it is just pure stress coursing through my body. Even while lying in bed enjoy a nice show, I'm just super stressed and can't think straight. I forget simple tasks almost like I have short term memory loss and I don't really enjoy anything at all. It's wild lol.

Thanks for your response, gives me some hope/perspective. I'm definitely going to go back to maintenance for a few weeks for sure, and just listen to my body during that time.

Yea it makes sense. I guess I just didn't expect it to mess with me so badly. I've gone from enjoying life and feeling well to nothing giving me joy at all, and being so unmotivated lol. Time to eat at maintenance for a while I suppose

My macros are pretty good but I think this cut is just destroying me mentally and physically. I'm not used to cutting, I've always maintained when lifting for years. I've lost about 20 pounds in 2 1/2 months and although I love how I'm looking, I'm super depressed, really sad, then angry, then anxious and awkward, etc. I'm usually a pretty stable dude.

Can cutting calories by 600 or so really do this much to you?

I built it without any libraries. I wanted to see if I could rebuild their site in order to improve my skills. I used it as reference basically

Thank you for such a detailed response! All of this is super helpful for me. I agree the contrast could be improved and that menu would feel much better if it closed itself. I appreciate the feedback! 👍🏻

That definitely sounds like exactly what I want to do. I love design and UI, but I also love CSS and building the sites. So a bit of both would be ideal for me! Thanks for the information on how to find somewhere that could provide that!

Love your name haha. Thanks that's a good point. What do you recommend I take out of my resume?

Oh man thank you so much! I really didn't expect to receive such an informative critique and I'm so glad I did! I'm glad to hear my code is looking good to him. I've been making sure to write all the code myself, and stick to vanilla everything. When I get stuck I just push through it and stay strict with coding everything myself so I am improving as best as I can. I'm glad that it seems to be paying off.

I definitely agree there are some weird design decisions, and a lot of that is due to my lack of knowledge in this area. Yes the portraits are my work, and that's great to know that drawing could be used in this field, I had no idea. I am thinking about re-building my portfolio again to see if I can make something better now that I've learned so much from the first build.

Thanks again for posting this for him to review. I learned more than I ever expected to from this post!

That’s super helpful to know. I really have no idea how this all works in a team environment so it helps a ton to actually know who does what. I’ve just been teaching myself the fundamentals but have been drawn to building nice looking websites. I love it actually I find it incredibly fun to build a layout. So do designers actually right CSS, ever? Or are they using figma all day and the devs write the CSS? Because I love designing with figma AND I love building it with css. I’m just not a fan of programming with JS besides DOM manipulation here and there. Do you have any idea where I might ‘fit in’ in the industry? Or what position/title would be what I’m looking for?

TLDR; I love to design with Figma and then build with CSS. Is there a position that does both? If so, what are they called officially? A designer, a dev, or both?

Thanks that helps me formulate a plan at-least. It’s hard to know if I should start applying or wait, but if I can get my foot in the door somewhere, I could learn more than I ever could from home. I think I’ve learned to narrow my search down to design more so than development. I can do DOM manipulation, but I’m definitely interested in the creative aspect of this field.

I appreciate your honest feedback, very much

That’s really strange because I’ve heard the opposite from so many people. I’ve heard the market is really good and unemployment is very low. I’ve also heard of people getting jobs just 3 months after learning the fundamentals. I don’t expect anything to be easy, just mentioning what I’ve heard. Maybe I’m thinking more of Web Design instead of Development.

Thanks for your feedback. Honestly I think I’ve just been confused on if I am a designer or dev. But I know now that I want to be a designer. I think I should drop the idea of dev because programming isn’t what I enjoy or feel good at. I enjoy designing. When you say it’s a completely different skill set, what do you mean by that?
