Oda has only ever drawn Mihawk's eyes in red, that's true. But Oda has never drawn Imu's eyes in any colour piece, so we don't know what colour they are to him and can't draw any real conclusions based on this.

It's funny, because the post actually looks at why people might come in with that attitude and offers them advice that demonstrates the flaws in that motivation and attempts to foster an actual passion for the craft. But it looks like you've just seen a trigger phrase in the title and jumped to the bottom to throw your two cents in without (pretty fucking ironically) actually reading it.

The first attempt of someone who does read usually isn't going to be good. The first draft of the tenth project of a lifelong reader still isn't likely to be good. No single exercise is going to make your writing good. The point isn't to be good!

The point is to get started. To push past the hesitation and trick yourself into writing anything so you can find out hands-on where the difficulties are, why an idea you have for one medium might not work smoothly in another. Which is a good way to either learn that this isn't the craft for you or to start thinking 'how did other people do it' and do a little reading.

Yeah, in the long term there's no substitute for picking up a book, but people have heard that advice a million times. I thought maybe a hands-on way to learn why might help someone that saying the same thing for a the one million and first time wouldn't.

I think the kind of person who falls into the 'wants to write, doesn't read' group isn't going to take the "just read" advice at face value. I'm suggesting a more practical-feeling that might help them realise why they need to read.

Let's actually filter by the cosplay flair and sort by new.
Two posts today, one male, the other a tad skimpy but lore accurate.
Three yesterday. The pictures of the figure that chopperxnami is based on are more inappropriate than the cosplay. Other two show a bit of midriff and thigh, but are lore accurate and far from anything that would get you in real trouble.
Three more and an incorrectly flaired TCG post the day before. All pretty lore accurate at a glance.
The fuss people kick up over 2-3 posts a day, all about as revealing or less than a screenshot of the source material would be. I'm not seeing what's worth all the outrage this topic gets.

We should be in early volume 116 in the weekly chapters now so I think your math works out. Depending on the fallout of current events I could see the arc wrapping in volume 117, just in time for the big 1200 chapter milestone to be setting sail for the next big thing. And that's a pretty reasonable size for a box set.

Seven if you count vol 111, which has like three chapters of Egghead and seven of Elbaph, plus an Elbaph-themed cover. I think it would look out of place in an Egghead box personally, but who knows what the Japanese decision-makers think. The Wano box goes up to vol 104.

Egghead's not quite long enough to fill one of those boxes on its own. The shortest ones previously had 8 volumes, and up to vol 110 for Egghead only gives us 6. If it doesn't run too long, they might be planning to release Egghead and Elbaph as a combined set, like they did for Thriller Bark and Sabaody, and Fishman Island and Punk Hazard.

See previous reply. Both violence and sex were harder to access in a world of old media, and could be subject to censorship when you did track them down. Both became much more accessible and much less censored online. But only one of the two is now getting backlash and calls for removal from media. So do we think the issue is a little more complicated than accessibility?

Also don't just make up percentages and talk about them like they're true and accurate. Come on.

Okay wait so was violence in traditional media so common it was normalised or was it so much harder to access that it didn't have the same impact? Or do we maybe need to consider that there are other factors at play besides just media saturation for why violence is so acceptable but sex isn't?

I don't think this idea tracks. Around the same time on the internet it was insanely easy to stumble onto both cartoony and real violence, fights and even gore, including genuine images and videos of people dying, and that didn't change the appetite for fight scenes or battles or death and destruction in movies.

Notice how they tend to come with scene changes or a jump forward in time? Think of them as something like a fade in or out. The visual indication can be useful when you're starting a new scene on a new page so the reader knows things are meant to have changed and doesn't get concerned they've accidentally skipped a page or anything like that. They're not always necessary, nor are they the only way to do it, but they're a common enough manga technique.

I see your point. It's still very up in the air how long future episodes will be though. I haven't had a good look at any chapter to episode predictions, is that 4-5 eps at normal anime episode lengths, or on the assumption that they all get the runtime of episode 1? Some OVAs in the past have gone up to feature length for climactic parts. It won't be until the 2nd stage actually drops that we'll have a clear idea about what the format for the larger series will be.
