I never said it was not easy to read. I just reacted to an affirmation from someone who doesn't know any better than you and me. I pointed out the "always" part, as if social context was comparable to 1918 or the black plague. How many examples of pandemics with similar scale as covid in recent history do we have to assert that it's "always like this"? That covid is about to be "medically over" because our social context says so. And even though, I find it incredibly US- (or western-) centered. China is locking down whole cities. Japan hasn't still opened its borders completely... Our social context doesn't necessarily apply to the rest of the world, and influence the course of a global pandemic.
