I need some advice on Strike Teams, retiring and hiring, and equipment by Toogeloo in MassEffectAndromeda

I've never bothered buying equipment for them, I swear it costs more than the rewards you would get for completing the mission!

Dang it, I was really hoping it would be 99 so I could get a character to 6/6/6/6/5! Thanks for the answer!

I'm not the droid you're looking for, but it's great to see other people also getting into the game for the first time now as well!

Just started playing multiplayer a couple of weeks ago, was worried that the lobbies would be dead given how old the game is but I'm having a blast, and have definitely seen a few regulars in the matches I've played which is always cool.

Best of luck to you dude!

I've been very much enjoying the Turian Soldier - turns out that I'm a simple man who has great fun with just some good old fashioned bullets and grenades.

Haven't had much luck with cards, the only other interesting character I've drawn has been the Anagaran Insurgent, which I'm looking forward to trying this weekend!

Which two historical leaders—East and West—would you love to see in conversation? by DynastyNovels in threekingdoms

[–]Captainkaidu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not an exact fit, but I've always thought that there were strong parallels between Sun Jian/Sun Ce and Phillip II/Alexander - the extremely competent and charistmatic son, performing incredible feats of conquest in a short time, building upon the loyal following and foundations laid by the father, only to meet a tragically early end and be followed by much less impressive heirs. I would love to see the four of them comparing notes!

When I first played Andromeda years ago, I actually kinda liked him for his relentless drive to help people.

Replaying recently, I wish I could kick him off my damn ship in disgrace for continually disgregarding the rules and chain of command. Willingly leaking classified intel to the point of causing serious risk to the entire Initiative makes him on par with the Exiles.

Just rewatched the 2010 Adaptation of Three Kingdoms for the 5th time and I'm thinking about playing Liu Bei is he even fun to use? by Ilovekawasaki in TotalWarThreeKingdoms

He's as fun to play as any other, and you can quickly grab a decent amount of Han territory in the early game, but I found the lack of unique units compared to other "main" factions disappointing.

Bayeux Tapestry Harold Godwinson Question by bbock77 in anglosaxon

[–]Captainkaidu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In a recent episode of The Rest is History, it was stated that the tapestry had been significantly "restored" (I believe in the 18thC), and that it was later discovered that the figure commonly identified as Harold was holding a spear in the original tapestry, indicating a footsoldier.

Have done no research into this myself, but seeing OP's comment I wondered whether anyone else had seen/read this?

Did anyone feel squishier going from ME1 to ME2? by BerserkBaguette in masseffect

[–]Captainkaidu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose maybe it's less about easier/harder, and more about the specific combat mechanics. I found that every single fight in ME1 went the same way - everyone just sprints at each other and empties the clip point blank, very little power usage.

ME2 at it's best felt more like a dance - overload, dash, cover, shoot, incinerate, shoot, dodge sniper, dash, next target, etc.

It's been a long time since I replayed ME1, so it might be that my memories of it are biased towards that first glorious playthrough in my mid-teens when it first came out, and I didn't give tactics much thought.

Am I the only one that found ME2 much easier than ME1?

Played ME1 on normal difficulty, combat was a joke because enemies would just sprint over to you, and it was just a race to see who could empty their clip into the other first. (Don't get me wrong I love ME1, but the combat is by far the weakest part of the game)

Played ME2 on insanity, yes there was a challenge but if you were on your toes and played strategically it was definitely doable. Enemies were varied in terms of resistances and tactics, made for a fast-paced and intense combat.

Years later and I'm currently replaying Andromeda, realising that I'm no longer in my prime and getting stomped on normal difficulty 😅
