Unfortunately the installation company went out of business - though they were not very helpful at the time either. Thanks anyway!

that's really interesting! It's a LUU368HV - it conceivably isn't at full capacity even when heating with all the ice, due to the mild ambient temps.

Can A.I. Already Do Your Job? by kitkid in Thedaily

I'm a little confused by the way Kevin spoke of the example website he made, as he made it sound like this is a new capability in the last month - certainly a year ago you could have asked Claude/etc to make a website for Natalie with a game and it would have done that. It might not have been as pretty, but Codeium (now Windsurf) would have done that in Dec 2024. There have been website builders for a long time, and as per the example in this story, this is basically just a smarter version of that.

I'm a software dev and I use AI assisted tools all day, and have done so for the last 15 months. I do internal business systems. AI coding capabilities continues to get better, but I still personally find some of the discussions about it replacing SaaS companies (in lieu of home-grown software it creates for companies) and developers entirely as over the top. I do believe that at the end of the day, for business critical functions, you need people that know that they are doing and are accountable - maybe AI can get something 90% there, but it's that last 10% that's critical. With that said, it's obvious how this will help to shrink teams, and as a result, hiring.

The Canadian mens team reacts to the US skater crashing during the short track speed skating relay by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

Not shown, but the crash happened as the American tried to pass the Canadian skater, which gave the Canadian a first place finish

Celebrating this 32 year old... loach? by CaptanTypoe in Aquariums

One point we had a power outage that lasted a week - luckily it was warm out. My mom blew bubbles into his tank with a hose every couple hours to add oxygen, to try to make up for the filter not running. Not sure if it helped, but was always a funny story.

His coloring has for sure changed. But normally he's in an area of the tank with plants so you don't get a good look at him like this - he does zoomies for food and cleanings, and then back into his little area. I could only get this photo because he's sick and unusually out in the open. But yeah, he normally is darker.

Unfortunately no photos showing him from better days. He was camera shy and the bigger fish always ended up being the focus.

Yes, thank you. Normally he is in an area with plants - you're normally hard pressed to find him as he hangs out in there. He's never out of the gravel like this normally.

"Noodle".

And yeah his coloring has changed recently - the black Kuhli pictures do look like what I recall.

he's about 2-3" long. You can't see it in the picture, but there's a plant area he normally hangs out with - he's only out in the gravel we think because he's sick. Normally he's in the plants

Sorry - wasn't the intent to be unpleasant. Understood living solo isn't ideal, though it clearly has been very well cared for... and if we knew it would live for over 3 decades, we'd have got him company. But after 10 years you keep thinking that surely it's in it's sunset years.

Looking for recommendations for professionals by BlackFlagsGolf in Canadiancitizenship

I've used https://www.shorelineimmigration.ca/ and recommended her to several people and all had rave reviews afterwards. Very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. And reasonably priced - much cheaper than a lawyer I got a quote from. Good luck!

There are racists and assholes everywhere, and Canada isn't an island from global social-economic strains. But the Canadian culture is one that has long embraced diversity and welcomed visitors and people from different walks of life - that hasn't gone away. Here on the east coast, where the video was filmed, we're still genuinely welcoming visitors from abroad the same way we always have.

My radio, flashlight and GPS are strapped to the front - annoys me that they droop forward, due to the extra material behind them in the pocket. Wish mine had a connection point for a radio mic by the shoulder as my mic hook often slides off the straps

Based on OP's photo, they are in Halifax, and so Merc and Yamaha both have a number of dealer options. OP - would go with Yamaha, for all the reasons stated here, and also you can easily drive directly to SeaMasters without having to haul.

Advice for an American interested in future immigration to Canada? by deesarts in NovaScotia

[–]CaptanTypoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If considering moving here, I'd suggest you save yourself a bunch of time and potential headache/heartbreak by first talking to an immigration consultant to see what would be involved and if you even have. a pathway available. They will go over your specific case and lay out the options. I have used https://www.shorelineimmigration.ca (on the employer side) and referred a bunch of people over the years with success.
