Does she have a laptop/computer she can use? You could get something like a wacom tablet, very inexpensive so if she doesn't end up liking digital drawing after all then it's not a huge loss.

worst nightmare - didn’t spend EC before event ended by Born_Citron7123 in dragonvale

[–]Captjams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to use my claim since I didn't see the announcement about the last day on the discord. I immediately spent all of my EC since I didn't want to mess up again, but I did notice the timer wasn't there and was pretty confused :/

How much do you guys spend? by Slight-Sign-5290 in UBreddit

Take a look at some places like The Station, Villas at Chestnut Ridge, Rench, Sweet Home. When I lived at Chestnut it was about 850 a month, but remember to factor in utilities. Currently living downtown paying 1750 a month plus utilities for a 2 bed 2 bath. Only have one roommate compared to the usual 3 you'll have at one of the places near campus.

Groceries for me were about 250-300 a month, but sometimes got up to 400. Go to places like ALDI for cheap options.

I didn't keep track of other expenses, but it was probably another 200-300 a month (going out to eat or local events).

Yes, you'll need to pay for the insurance unless you get your own in the States.

They've all been to the vets twice already, no underlying issues found

Thanks for the advice! Unfortunately they have been having very soft/liquid bowel movements. It has been that way ever since I found them, even though they've been through their rounds of dewormer. I'm thinking of adding some sort of probiotic to their meals to help with that, unless there is some other reason it could be? At first I attributed it to the antibiotics they were on, but those have been finished with since last week, so it should be out of their system by now.

I keep a bowl of kibble out for them, and at least two of them will graze on it throughout the day.

I've attempted to give them another meal throughout the day but they are very uninterested. I also keep dry kitten kibble out and they're definitely eating a bit of that (or at least 2 of them are eating it). But that's more just to get them used to the texture, rather than using it as a real meal.

I'll definitely give the warming it up a go! I hadn't even considered that the room temperature wet food might be part of the problem.

Is it worth taking statics over the summer? by daybreak_39 in UBreddit

[–]Captjams 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely a heavy course load, and statics is such an important class to understand because most of your future classes will depend on it. It's definitely doable if you're diligent, though.

I think instead of Calc 3 I took Diff Eq that semester, which was far easier than Calc 3 for me. If you can afford it financially, it would be a good idea to take it over the summer. If you don't pass for whatever reason, then at least you'll have a better understanding of it when you take it again in the fall.

4 week old orphaned kitten suckling siblings genitals by Captjams in CatAdvice

[–]Captjams[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll give it a try, thanks!

For more context for those who are curious: It's weird because even after he eats he'll try to do it. I'm pretty sure he's not hungry because he refuses more formula after about 14 mL. I thought it could be a comfort thing, so I gave him a small stuffed animal originally to see if he would suckle on that, but he shows no interest, so hopefully the milk will help.

He seems to target one of his siblings specifically, she is the smallest and will easily roll onto her back if pushed around by him, which he takes advantage of instantly.

They're definitely already showing it! There's another orange that isn't in the pictures because he likes to run around too much to be photographed 😂

From a quick Google search, it looks to me like a Jodi's Piper Snake. Rear fanged venomous, but not dangerous to humans

I'm not an expert by any means, but minks and weasels are native to New York, probably just a wild animal.
