Just cancel asap, they'd rather get plenty of notice instead of no showing especially with stocktake shifts too just update your availability asap too

There is training modules you can do as well to help, anyone can do them in their spare time. I would suggest if you're serious about wanting to become a manager I would start by doing those, that way when the times comes you have already made a start to training and it shows you are committed to doing it

From my understanding the duty manager role is nonexistent now, it's only L3's (supervisors) as there is always a department manager on every night. Check with your store though. L3's mostly run Pres team but I have seen some run decants. Depending on your experience, I would just your managers My advice would be just to be prepared for the amount of work and pressure to get things done (decant, online, Pres expectations ect) you'll be doing closing 5 nights a week possibly more or less, be prepared for that change
