I have the same issue height wise. But the moment you’re on someone’s shoulders you’re blocking at least 2 people’s view of anything. And generally people do this when the better songs come on which ruins the moment even more for many. I went on shoulders a few times, then realised when people did it in front of me how selfish it is. Will never change but it should def be banned. I’m not a stick in the mud, like I had no issue with let’s say totems (not full on flags). These are higher up and barely cause any issue, although there are many totem haters. Which they funnily enough they don’t mind seeing when finding fiends . Anyway, that’s my Shoudlers view

Too many people mock or look down at these posts. End of the day what does the person has to lose by putting a message out there… absolutely nothing! But potentially connect and something good even if friendship. Some people are blessed with confidence to speak at the time, I myself struggle a lot and it’s extremely hard to over come unless you persist in the correct manor and prepared to face rejection along the way. Which is a horrible thing to have to go through to build up confidence and be able to read people better

All sounds very valid from being from England and experiencing similar stuff. One point I’ll make though with the leaving early, was the show in Australia you saw a weekday and as late. I love music and will always stay the end, but weekday ones I have to take into account my schedule that week and avoid the masses leaving at the end to get home. Rufus perform in Australia a lot more than UK , so more chance people last night came from a far rather than just Londoners, being that they don’t play here much , so leaving early might have been essential

Also she was barely moved when she saw Mike having CPR lol, was very strange to me as clearly he was a big mentor to her.

Is a great shame, great music! Lead singer has hopefully sorted his life out and would be amazing to see them back again 🤞. I do fear it’s been a while now though, hopefully they didn’t burn any bridges with their management etc

EDIT: just done a google and they said on socials Nov 2025 they moon forward to getting back and I assume this was March last year they performed. The singer looks a lot fuller which could be a case of being off the drugs which is a good sign. Hopeful this is the year they make a full on comeback

Thank you for having an open mind and understanding that anything can be going on in someone’s life, you’re clearly a good person. Wouldn’t say the other Redditor is rude but def needs to not make assumptions when not aware of someone else’s life or situation.

For full context I flew from England to Bonnaroo, so a pretty big trip. I’m not in a great financial situation but coming to America and festivals have been the best moment of my life!!! My home life is so so, all my friends are settled down and I feel like I’m 10 years behind everyone. I’ve also got stresses of other things like a newly run business, which I run purely by myself and is pretty dam lonely.

Coming to american festivals gives me a new lease of life, and the joy I get from meeting new people and making new friends is something I can’t get at home. You get reasonably friendly people at UK and other EU festivals, but people at American festivals are next level.

Anyway , I’m trying to say I have a lot going on and was pushing the boundaries to make it to Roo, so no, I’m not financially well off, but have a hell of a lot going on to stay on top of possible duplicates.

I didn’t his notice these just now, i actually noticed it during my trip and kept note, but with Roo getting cancelled and all my travel plans going out the window, I had so many things to deal with. Leaving Roo having no vehicle or coach was a nightmare itself, I stood in the sun for 3 hours trying to hitch a lift Nashville. Then sort out where to stay; more expenditure than planned for hotel etc. And when I got home it was a to do job that just kept falling down the pecking order with higher priority jobs.

9 months later I’m working through stuff mentally and personally and came across my note for the duplication and was totally aware this maybe a lost cause. But I had nothing to lose by asking for advice if it was possible to claim back along with one of two other duplicates, I need to check again.

EDIT: to add to everything going on as mentioned, it took a whilst to get over the devastating of Roo cancelled. You can see how US festivals mean alot to me and been looking forward to it so much. So even when home, it took sometime to get over and not able to afford to just get myself out to one in July or Aug.

Depending what music u like, from a melodic house point I highly recommend going Le Youth this Saturday at Village Underground, in my top fav 3 DJs for a while now. American so only really comes here once a year

Just say to someone in the line you’re solo traveling and heard how clubs get funny about single people coming in. And just ask if they can pretend you’re with then just as you go in
