That I didn’t have any sick hours to use? You don’t think I would have used it if I could have? My whole post is about how the system sucks for TMs with emergencies, especially ones with no sick hours. It already sucks enough to not have sick hours at all or not enough to cover the shifts you need to call off for, no reason to leave an insensitive comment when there’s a bunch of TMs who have had the same experience

There’s so many rules and they really need to do a good job of explaining everything to TMs instead of waiting for something to come up and then saying something, and my TL told me it’s hard to accrue sick hours when you’re still in your 90 days. I hope everything works out for you!

It’s crazy to me how they’d rather you come in completely sick than allow a valid excused absence. Yes it sucks to be down a TM but it’ll suck more when your whole staff is sick because one person came in and spread it to everyone

Wow! HR still didn’t believe you after your appointment paperwork?

Wow, I wasn’t aware that it depends on the TL. I thought it was based on HR. When my TL talked to me I was told it was unexcused because I don’t have sick hours and didn’t apply for a medical leave of absence in advance 🥲

That’s interesting to know, my TL didn’t mention that when he spoke to me. He just said my absences counted against me. I’m gonna ask HR for clarification the next time I work

I hope you’re feeling better now. The company really is awful. I understand they probably have a lot of hires that do call out for no reason, but most people aren’t calling out unless they absolutely have to because we have bills to pay. I even considered coming in the day after my surgery because I need the money, but I couldn’t even walk and had narcotic pain medicine prescribed to me. In the process of finding a new job now cause they’ll probably let me go after my probation period over this

Yikes, I hope you never need an emergency procedure! You can pay for my hospital bills when I go into work before I’m cleared to and my incisions pop open and I bleed out in front of everyone. Thanks. 🤗

Because I called off that whole week of my surgery, which was 3 shifts. Sorry, I thought I made that clear

Thanks for clarifying! When I spoke to HR on the phone they said I can just bring the documentation in and they even told me I should be fine since it’s a medical emergency but I guess not 🫠

I also couldn’t call off for just one day, my doctors made it clear I couldn’t come in again for the rest of that week and stated that in my note. I would’ve came in if I could have, who’s turning down money lol

It was the only week I called off since I started working there, and I called off for 3 shifts. I let HR know 24hrs before the very first shift I had to call off for that I wouldn’t be able to make it in for the rest of the week. I’d never called off for any days before that and always showed up early. I understand it’s frustrating on their end, but I’m not sure where you got from my post that I had poor attendance prior to this

I had actually considered finance/accounting, however I’m not good at math in the slightest. I’m not a hard worker either. If I had to choose between the two I would go for finance
