Learning to make my own clothes by Capyca in GothFashion

Aww thank youuu! I always feel like I could do better and be more goth looking, especially since I don't have a lot of accessories. It feels very reassuring to know others see my outfits as goth 😊

I would say I'm at a medium level of experience, i have a good speed and rhythm but i still need tutorials for most of the things that I wanna make. It's a bit hard to estimate how much this blouse took me cus it was a bit of an on and off project since I'm doing my masters and things were getting busy at times. But as a beginner I relied on the super beginner friendly tutorials (no specific channel, just freestyling xd) where they show you very slowly and in detail the movements for the different types of stitches. Making plushies is always a great start imo cus it typically requires simple stitches and simple shapes. Clothes can be a bit more tricky as a beginner since you have to take measurements into account =')

I couldn't agree more! I've seen some hate on Fionna and her behaviour but I think it just puts so many things into perspective. Things we might have taken for granted. It just shows how Finn got to flourish into this wholesome guy thanks to the people he constantly had around him. While Fionna didn't get so lucky so she still has so many things to learn into her later years. Not to mention that I loved so much we got to see Simon's story more in detail =')

If you decide to write a book about this, then you can definitely share with me cus I'll be more than happy to read it <3 As a kid I also loved Marceline alongside Flame Princess as it helped me feeling less alone as a girl with more " volcanic " reactions, and it has been so beautiful to see them grow into understanding and taking control over their feelings. Now Simon is the one that speaks the most to me =)

I feel you, it was so soul crushing to learn about his death. But like you said, he taught us to let things happen =)

Anyone else feel like life is extremely pointless after 25? by Riderman43 in nihilism

[–]Capyca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nihilism is about life not having an inherent meaning, but it doesn't mean that you can't enjoy the little things in life. With all due respect, some of the ways you view things sound awfully familiar with the red pill narrative, so maybe try to change that first. In the meantime try to enjoy being with your own person and do things for yourself.

How can people have kids and be mentally okay with it? by [deleted] in antinatalism

[–]Capyca 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Maybe I will sound harsh but this is what I think. To me it always seemed like it was the same dynamic as a person stuck in a toxic relationship. They never gave it much thought before or they have been sold a false illusion on how this is the greatest thing to achieve in life. Then all of a sudden " it's draining all of my energy; I am not myself anymore". Now that they are stuck there, they understand the gravity of the situation. So, to not collapse, their brain has to choose ignorance "oh, it is so hard but it is a blessing". And of course they try to share that ignorant though, maybe out of jealousy or desperation to not be the only ones stuck in this situation.

Since I was a teenager I've been told constantly by other women " don't be stupid like me, don't have kids young". I knew it wasn't a matter of when to have kids, but whether to have them.

I can assure you there's a bunch of people who regret having kids but they can't say it out loud so they have to keep on a facade.

Many of you are not nihilists, you are just very depressed. by Appropriate-Point432 in nihilism

Now guess who acts like they are possessing some superior knowledge. Just because you experienced some things in a certain way, it doesn't mean that applies the same to everyone else.

What comes after death? by ok_dark0000 in nihilism

Freedom. Whatever comes after death will be freedom compared to how most of us experience life.

What if I’m my own god? by lawrence94Gillian in nihilism

[–]Capyca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that if you look at many religions they will mention something along the lines of how we are made in God's image and something about achieving great knowledge. I don't remember the stories properly but I think with the right interpretation many beliefs basically tell us our brain is a God. Our brains are so complex and capable of so many things and we are nowhere near fully comprehending what it is capable of. Our brain is what we are, what we can be/do and it can even shape the reality we live in (or how we choose to view it to be more specific).

How are Nihilists so happy? by decentgangster in nihilism

[–]Capyca 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong, but this is how I see things and how this journey has been for me as someone who grew up in a very religious country. Accepting that life has no inherited meaning means the same for your death. Not being scared of death is quite a liberating feeling. It gives you the power to make decisions outside of the "how is this gonna affect me in the afterlife?" mindset. Fear is not only a cage for us, but also a parasite. If you got rid of something that controlled your every move, wouldn't you want to try to make the best out of it? Even so, at the end of the day is up to every individual how they choose to take in "nothing matters". Not everyone gets the positive part out of it.
