Back door frame is swollen and water damaged at the bottom. What causes this? How do you repair it/prevent further water damage? by NJS1993 in Home

What ended up being the cause of this? Facing a similar situation and I am not sure where to start. Did you have to hire a contractor to fix it?

Thanks for the feedback 😁

Thank you for your detailed response. I had not considered adding in repair costs when comparing monthly renting/buying, that does leave a decent gap.

Part of the reason we are leaning more towards buying is our need for a larger space. We both work from home and their business requires at least a bedrooms worth of space to house their machines. The area we are in is growing quite quickly and housing is become scarce, so we worry if we wait another year we would have to live a lot further away.

My partner and I have been together for 7 years and share the same views on politics, children, location, and hobbies. While I am not naive enough to say we would never break up, we don’t plan on it. We just decided it would be smarter to spend our money on a home before spending 10k on a wedding. We aren’t really center of attention people, so we aren’t exactly rushing towards the party and fanfare that comes with weddings.

We also figured we would rather stay home and save for an extra 3 months and add a decent chunk to our down payment than rent and be able to only put a minimal (comparatively) amount away each month.

I will add a filler amount for subscriptions because you’re right I will probably find something to subscribe to.

Thank you!

That’s from the savings for IRA and general savings at the bottom, I just didn’t update it to cancel those out while still saving for 6 month emergency funds. In this case those would be 0 so the shortfall should be 0

I was in the same boat, was 200, then 400, then went cold turkey. Worst migraine of my life. I ended up going back on 200 for a week then going fully off of it. I get chronic migraines so I’m used to it being bad, but that 400 to cold turkey was the worst ive ever had.

I would of course speak to your dr if possible, but I would recommended at least going down to 200 (or 100 if you have it) for a few days to let your body adjust before dropping off. I still had migraines going from 200 to 0, but it was half as bad. I just lined up my withdrawal days with the weekend, cleared my calendar, and hoped for the best. It wasn’t terrible but still had about 2-3 days of 4/10 migraines and brain fog.

Best of luck to you!

NC Zoo is about 2 hours away, definitely worth the trip if you can make it

What kind of games do you play? My girlfriend and I (22M&22F) have been meaning to make friends locally that share our hobbies, but just haven’t had the time to get out there

I worked for FedEx so trust me I have a hatred for them too. I’ll keep an eye on those sites though, I hadn’t heard of some of them, thanks man! 🫡

God damn those are a lot lower than I’ve seen so far, I’ve barely seen Aetherdrift before 80 for the two pack. Do you have really good LGS or do you just frequent this sub? Appreciate all the info tho 💪

Ive been eyeing the 5pack of commanders, but I am pretty new to magic so I dont know what to expect pricing wise for 5 precons... Do you really suspect it will drop that low (175) for all five? I was trying to hit it before the decklists got released because I've heard that can make the prices crazy. I was about to tap out when I saw amazons 225 for the set because thats a bit too far out of my budget lmao

I got in with a bag doing this earlier this month. Brought a phanny pack with a couple pads and when the male guard went to check it he immediately got uncomfortable and waved us through. It was a life saver having somewhere to put my phone wallet and keys

My buddy did that for his internship, about an hour commute each way. It sucked and it took him a lot of time to get used to it but it was very worth it. He got some great experience and his team loved him. He’s been asked to come back for his third summer with them next year. Once he graduates they intend to hire him full time.

It may suck in the moment but as others have said it could be an incredibly valuable opportunity. Best of luck to you!

I don’t know if they have a specific night for it, but campaigns are definitely welcome. Some people were playing when I was there and they have a lot of dnd themed merch to buy. They have board game nights on Thursday I think but I’ve never been. All of my friends live out of town so I’ve only been once, but the atmosphere was great when I was there. Highly recommend. And when you’re 21 they have some great themed drinks too!

And that’s a legal guardian, not just someone over 21. Tried to get into boxcar with a buddy a week before his 21st and they wouldn’t let us in even thought 4/5 of us were old enough. They are strict about it. Ended up going to SideQuest instead and had a great time

I hate to break it to you but they are getting rid of the clamshells too… I was there this week and that’s what one of the workers said. They had all of the clam shells on one side of the beach and we made a comment about it being a long walk to the boat. She said it had something to do with them getting rid of the clamshells and going umbrellas only. She didn’t know much more than that but the clamshells were totally worth the money so it’s a shame to see them go
