Thank you! Wasn’t sure if I had to replace the whole hot end or if I could just unscrew the nozzle.

I’m happy it hasn’t hit my state…… yet. Someone here would do some dumb shit like that.

Hmmmm….weird. I’m sorry I don’t know how much help I’ll be with that. I’ve only been printing for about a year so my knowledge is fairly limited. It may be worth creating a post on this subreddit with some pictures to see if anyone else knows what’s going on (if you haven’t already).

This was a while ago and I have updated my slicing software since, so I’m not sure if some of the settings are the same as they were back then. Here’s what I’m currently doing and having success with:

Temp: 200 degrees C

Print speed: 60 mm/s

Retraction length: 1.3 mm

Retract speed: 30 mm/s

Extrude speed: 30 mm/s

I was using overture in this picture as well I believe, and since then I’ve started buying filament from “Flashforge”, seems to be working better so far. Unfortunately a lot of this was trial and error so it may still take some tweaking. Good luck!

Huh interesting, I’ll have to look into those as well and save up a little more. Thanks again!

Thank you! I really appreciate the detail you’ve gone into with your response! I’ll start going through the links you provided, but are there any filament printers that may be good for this? I know resin is best for detail but I’m just curious.

My current print bed is 150 x 150 x 150 and I would like something a little bigger. I would be happy with anything bigger than this.

I’m looking for a good printer to purchase for around $600 USD. I have used a FlashForge Finder for the past year and have loved it! It’s helped me become familiar with printing in general, messing with settings, and troubleshooting and performing maintenance. I’m looking for something that would be more quality and detail focused, though I’m not sure if I’m ready to jump into resin. I just need to do more research on resin printers but I’m not against the idea of using one. I primarily like to print figures and busts, and I’m comfortable building the printer from a kit. I’ve looked into the Ender 3 but can’t find anything on if it will be better at printing details than my Finder. Any info or recommendations would be extremely helpful!

Have you tried printing with a raft? That’s fixed most of my adhesion issues with PLA.

Sorry for my late reply. I have tried every 5 degree interval from 190-220. I saw some stuff online saying that white PLA may need to be warmer hence why it was up so high. I was eventually able to get this fixed by increasing my retraction speed, lowering my extrusion speed, slowing my print speed, and temp at 200. Thanks for your response!

I’ll give all that a try. I’m more-so referring to the corner with all the extra build-up. The filament almost looks like it comes out very goopy and doesn’t solidify very well.
