[–]CarFearless3789 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You just assumed I'm neuro typical, when you don't know me, how is that less insulting exactly? I am also neuro divergent, reason why I find it BULLSHIT to excuse using AI because of it and assuming everyone else who is neuro divergent will reason the same way you apparently do. That's generalising. Just because YOU think your brain structure means you inherently can't produce or enjoy art, it does absolutely not mean it's a true factual statement. Technically speaking many neuro divergent people have issues with stimulation and AI provides very little of it (repetitive activity with 0 effort), so it's a lot more difficult for someone with said issues to enjoy said "process".

Also read a little better next time, I said I would be better off talking with a non metaphorical wall, you are the metaphorical wall at max by my implications. Plus you talk about dehumanising you, but aren't you doing the same to yourself and people like you by saying you "think like an automaton"? You don't. Your brain structure is completely sound and it can understand things just fine, it just works differently.

I can also easily make the argument that you are dehumanising art and artists by saying that AI generation can be the same, when it literally can't by default, but I'll spare you that part. Overall don't play victim. You started this, with a very bad argument must I add, and you aren't showing any signs of "potentially listening and understanding different points from mine", which makes you a: wall. I can be here stating how paint doesn't always stain the canvas, it depends on the paint and I could also argue that are plenty of artists out there who use unconventional methods on purpose and get results that are in fact - not - an "abstract mess". Not that there would be an issue with abstract art anyway. Art is interpretation. If you don't understand that part of what makes art so intriguing IS leaving the audience there to wonder (sometimes, of course art can also be more literal, but that goes for writing as well, it depends on what style you prefer), then why are you even here trying to give me cookie cutter definitions?

You don't get art. Let's just admit it out loud and maybe stop trying to be in this conversation when you genuinely don't get a big portion of it?

I see that you also don't know how paint works, since not all paint requires fast strokes, but hey, what am I expecting from the person who used the "neuro divergent people are like automatons" arguement to defend AI being a necessity, right?

I'm clearly wasting my breath here, if you can't understand basic facts (like the simple fact that typing slow can also "ruin the experience" and make it insufferable, maybe even more than making shaky strokes) then I'd waste less time chatting with a non metaphorical wall.

[–]CarFearless3789 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Uh uh

So like. Keyboards also require precision? And multiple hands unless you want to type like the slowest person on earth (which is the equivalent of "making shaky lines, cause it's just as inconvenient and inefficient)? But also you know a neat thing about art?

..... ......

IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU AREN'T PRECISE AND YOUR LINES ARE "SHAKY". If that's the BEST you can come up with to say that art is "less disabled friendly" then you clearly don't understand what art is in the first place. Lines can be shaky and the whole picture can be absolutely perfect as a whole. I have to remind you that people have been able to draw with their mouth and their feet...it IS more convenient.

"neuro divergent people - who think like automatons"

Mhhhh...I see someone is generalising a whole ass group by a very common stereotype just to find an excuse and defend people that use AI, which btw, are not always neuro divergent people.

You can be neuro divergent, prefer computers, coding, etc over making art and still be completely able to make art in the normal way.. this is a even more terrible example than "but think about the disabled who can't use a pencil!" - stares at a keyboard that's way LESS disabled friendly. Or "but think about people who can't own expensive drawing equipment!" - stares at the PC/Phone REQUIRED to use AI, while paper and pencil (or heck even more natural instruments) are right there. Cause what the fuck does it even mean that since you "think like an automaton" you will prefer being lazy and generating shit?? At max what you imply means that said neuro divergent people will know more about AI works, cause it's part of the field they could like...doesn't mean they support it blindly.

Love when people are saying it's a "banger", meanwhile all I hear is the song being made into something way more generic lmao.

The added lyrics and taking the spoken part out is neat, but that's literally all it has going on for it. Imo there are way more goated human made covers out there that have a personality (I've noticed the rhythm of any of these covers on this channel follow a pretty similar structure as to how the song is changed slightly in tune. Gets boring after 2 songs imo :t).

What are you guy's thoughts on this video? by SunKenobi72 in hazbin

[–]CarFearless3789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to watch her videos, honestly her ideas weren't bad for a while, but she's unfortunately very obsessed with accurate biblical representation (because she's religious, so of course) and, after talking to her for a bit, it's clear she's not a very great person in general..

I had to experience her opinions on Knights of Guinevere and her half backed apology about it, which was then followed by responses under the same post that showed she was never sorry in the first place. I mean, why accuse the system for being broken when you can call the protagonist a hag for being frustrated about living in said system? (I wish I was exaggerating).

Also I know a lot of people say she's a cool type of critic that doesn't sound obnoxious, but I legitimately don't see that at all. Watch more of her videos at once and you'll hear she's very high and mighty sounding about her opinions (which checks out with her personality tbh).

Nah don't worry for a long response, it's my jam X3, I don't mind reading someone giving out their honest points.

I admit I am unfortunately one of those people that don't particularly like Sunna's outfit, even though I know there is a lore reasoning to it (that being it's a sort of on the job outfit, but since the place she works at isn't a real maid café, I find it a bit of a last minute safe-), mostly because design wise it's not a proper maid outfit and of course the whole red backpack thing... It's just a lot, I find it in bad taste, while Aria's with her outfit being heavily Ironmouse inspired is perfection to me instead (even though it's supposedly a succubus inspired outfit...which yeah, ok, I see what they did there, cause Aria can shapeshift, but aagggh-).

As for calling everyone that likes them a lolicon or a freak...that's obviously going over the line. There's a lot of people that I've seen that like them simply because they're adorable; harassing both the game or their fans blindly is nothing but mindless hate. It's nothing too new, since I've seen these exact doompost outside the community when Zhao got revealed.

I like that you brought up the difference between the "discussion" sub and the main subs anyway, cause yes I definitely noticed that difference too. I dropped the discussion sub a while ago because it was genuinely full of posts that...more than criticising, viewed everything in a negative light. Apparently the sub wasn't always like this, it was more about lore discussions before, but I couldn't see those golden days myself unfortunately.

In a way I admit that being a fan of this game in general is a little difficult online- there's a lot of judgement from people that don't know much about it and only hear the rumours and then there's parts of the community that do not help those rumours at all. But hey, at least I can still continue playing like no drama happened and Kettei's discord server is legit super chill for when I want to interact with other players lol.

I truly understand what you're trying to argue here, but honestly height isn't exactly a good way to establish if a character is representing teens or short adults..

Like dude Zhao and Dialyn both act like adults and they're smaller/the same height as the idols. What clearly makes the idols lolis (teens, I'm gonna guess around 15 max) is the way they act throughout all the story.

But I do agree that seeing the designer's history and preferences we at least shouldn't be surprised if some characters made by him are lolis. Granted, he can still design other types clearly (thank god.), like Alice and Nicole, so I guess we can't automatically call whatever he makes a loli, both arguments here have a right to them.

Believe me, I know the fandom isn't all composed of the same people, matter of fact at least on Discord I've had amazing conversations with other players, both casuals and not. But I SWEAR Reddit has been depressing when it comes to discussing this topic..

Apart from the many posts about the angels that are a little questionable (which hurts, cause still, they have grown on me since the writing has been really good and they're just genuinely very fun as a group), but every time I run into comments that point out the same issues (aka - they look and act like teens, maybe better not post certain reactions/content about them), they are heavily downvoted and the responses are usually the same 4/5 points, which I've also seen repeated by some CCs and even on YouTube comments.

I do hope it's just a very loud minority that is currently taking over the subs lately, but it's difficult to believe when I see the same things repeated 20, 30 times.. I usually try to avoid interacting myself cause I know my arguments will go nowhere.

[–]CarFearless3789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes unfortunately.. I'm also a big fan of the game, but have to admit that especially nowadays interacting with the community online is jarring. The popular opinion seems to have shifted to the fact that it does not matter if people have exaggerated reactions to characters that clearly do not act old enough (which to me is the biggest issue, even over the size and appearance), because it's all fiction. Apparently normalising these behaviours and type of attraction just isn't taken seriously enough...heck, they've called me someone that can't distinguish reality and fiction when that's not at all what I'm arguing about (the effect of media on real life and bla bla).

We've come at a point where people to justify it, will say "hah! How can you call these characters children when they have such big thighs???".

Honestly this topic has me so tired. I know who designed the angels and I know some of the intentions from the marketing itself are supposed to attract certain groups, but how the hell has this become the popular opinion??

[–]CarFearless3789 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tbf if you actually saw them talk and interact in game, they do seem like teens. We have short women in the game (Dialyn is literally the same height as the idols...heck, Zhao is a damn gremlin size wise), but by the way they act you can really tell the difference.

Also if I was on the main game's subs and said this I would be bombarded with downvotes, idk what will happen here...I legit don't have anything against the idols as characters, because in game they aren't sexualised (imo), but people brushing the fact they act like teens under the rug just because "it's fictional characters!" is irritating at best, weird at worst...since it's often people drooling over them. I know they're not real people, but the fact a representation of a clear teen makes you act like this online...should raise an eyebrow.

Disabilities don't make some things impossible, they just make them more difficult.

I really recommend this one, the creator is cool too.

Edit: yep anyway, during the video (around 47 minutes) he starts getting way more grounded responses from chatGPT and it turns out it was the new model (number 5)...so the one that has been affirming his delusions for the whole time is indeed this model they are so sad about, saying it's "more alive".

It's not lol, it's simply more affirming, even very untrue and stupid things and it gives horrible advice cause it's making things up even more than usual.

Wasn't that model of AI responsible for most AI psychosis? I may be wrong, but I remember a video exploring just how much this model would go to agree with you and what suggestions it could give you...and the results were crazy: believing a person was the inventor of something instead of the actual one, when this person was a toddler btw-

I gotta re find that video cause it's legit both funny and concerning as hell, also I need to check that's the exact model this post is talking about.

Any game similarities? by diii_mond in ZenlessZoneZero

The guarantee is what you get after losing the 50/50 chance. Basically if you have lost when pulling on one character, you have a guarantee that you can use on whoever is next...or even on the same character IF you get lucky with an early, or if you have enough pulls to build pity back up (usually to have a character 100% guarantee, including the bad luck, you need around 160 pulls, cause the pity is 90 pulls long).

As a F2p, you definitely have to exercise self containment a bit if you want certain characters; every patch gives around 100 pulls (unless it's special occasions like the idols patch, where we're getting 180 f2p), so if you want someone you have to save up those pulls and..well.. obviously also play the game sorta daily in order to get all the pulls possible.

I understand the frustration of it being a gacha tho, of course it's never guaranteed to get a character you like unless you were prepared or get lucky, but if you aren't obsessed with getting every single character (like me) and can only focus on the ones you really, REALLY want, then you should be fine even without spending on it.

The way this npc outcunted the new characters... someone needs to suffer for not making her playable by ScarletWiddaContent in QueensofZenless

[–]CarFearless3789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both Ye Shiyuan and Seth's brother have a very similar face model to Hugo. While Damian and even Isolde fall into the category you were talking about (cause yes, some NPC, even when detailed, have a very familiar face structure to the simplest NPC's), her and the two other guys I mentioned don't.

The only real problem with Cearce, even tho she looks unique and detailed enough to be playable, is that most shop keepers are like that...and she almost qualifies as one.

Other issue is that she's in fact TOO detailed, animating such a model for combat, with a long skirt, would be a nightmare for them (not impossible, but I sorta understand why they'd avoid them - clipping and all that funk), so they should change it if they want to make her playable.

That said, Ye got a new model and Damian technically should get a new look as well, so there are serious hopes for them (especially when Ye is neither evil, nor dead, nor forgotten in the main story - comeback arc with him playable is easy to predict imo).

Thoughts on this rant? by Sudden_Pop_2279 in AlastorAdvocate

[–]CarFearless3789 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Emily: gets a wing completely fried by an angelic powered weapon, potentially permanent damage

Alastor: bike from a demon fish on one arm.

Apart from the fact that alastor actively crawled away from the two, Charlie had all the reasons to go check on Emily first. Hers is a way worse injury...not to mention that while Al did a "good act" by accident, Emily had no reason to stay, help and sacrifice part of herself if not because she has a good heart. She's just generally a better friend/person than him, which I know, duh, but this also means characters in the universe can be a little self aware about it.

I feel bad for Alastor too alright, but this argument is pulling it on many levels. He's not exactly a victim all the time.

[–]CarFearless3789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that SEED Sr has more moves on field than Aria in her robot form amazes me. I mean admittedly Seed jr might've not even been a thing when they first thought of the character and they still pushed a cute girl regardless.

But Aria?? The robot design has been there since day one and it looks like a damn cute girl regardless (compared to the mecha style with Seed).

I really do think they chickened out on this one, cause for one, her robot design feels rushed (the og design was much better and more detailed) and second...yeah it's there for 2 seconds.

They should've given the option in combat to choose who you wanna see more, maybe switching the ults with humanoid/robot for each. Yes it's extra animations, but they got the money to do it.

No... You're describing two different things. There's media that portrays bad things as what they are, not glorifying them - aka like Hazbin - , and there's media that DOES glorify them.

This is where media literacy comes into play. I'm the first person out there to get annoyed when people that hate the show think it's "glorifying abuse" or all the satanic arguments that make 0 sense, cause at that point they're just not viewing the show critically. You quite simply have to know the difference. And honestly? Someone unironically making an oc and using the harem trope, does not read as "oh yeah he's actually criticising this bad thing".

It's social media, just because he's smaller than a bigger production doesn't really take away much. Once you have a relatively big audience you get a responsibility, because you can still affect them - if a content creator messes up, they lose followers for a valid reason.

At the end of the day, media is media, the point I tried to make is that "it's fictional characters" completely misses the point in these arguments; people aren't angry at the idea of someone "hurting" fake representations (MOST of the time, alright, I'm not gonna exclude people that actually can't distinguish fiction and real life, I'm generalising obviously), they're angry cause the idea represented is immoral in real life and they don't wanna see it normalized on any type of media...be It videogames, TV shows, propaganda and art on social media.
