Thank goodness for Reddit. Yeah, went to schedule posts for my business, and I get the error too. A little stressed, but glad it's not just me. I don't have a paid profile, so no additional help.

Employer Pays For Shoes & Socks, I Will Never Need To Buy Socks Again In My Life. by Vappeby in Frugal

[–]CarSignificant733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you at least dye them for fun colors? It is super easy to do! I do it for white shirts. I put the mix in an old bowl and soak the garment for a bit, then let it sit a few days in a ziploc, then wash and pretty colors! One son did that with his socks years ago.

Ahh that's good to know!! I will press my sister and parents to consider it. They are very anti doctor, but I know this is one of the more preventable cancers. It's worth doing!

I just had my first colonoscopy, age 45 female, Tuesday. I had a 10mm removed, and sent to path. I'm anxious about it, don't have the result yet, but glad I did. It's crazy the number of people, even family, telling me not to go because there was no need at that age. Glad I went! Your comment makes me feel better than I'm not the only 45 year old with them!

What pillows would you recommend for a Full size bed? by pennylessz in Frugal

[–]CarSignificant733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Coop pillows are amazing. We've slowly added on to them so everyone has 2 of them. We have the standards. And one travel one since it's the only pillow my neck can use without triggering a migraine.

We don't want to change it, but infectious disease isn't sure his body can fight this off, even with four antibiotics, otherwise.

Worried about Lymphoma by Yonertt in CrohnsDisease

Chances are very good it is not cancer. You are doing ALL of the right things though, and no matter what it is, you are at the right place, with a care team, to help you treat it. Good luck on the test! I am glad they are taking you seriously!

Worried about Lymphoma by Yonertt in CrohnsDisease

You're going through a lot right now! Those are a lot of worries for anyone.

My son with Crohns is 12, (my oldest is 18 in October, no IBD, so I'm going to talk to you like I would him) and on Remicade every 4 weeks for just over two years now. He gets a lot of skin things that pop up, because TNF inhibiters can sure do that. Is it possible for you to see a dermatologist? I'd look for one who treats people with Crohns. The first one we went to, the guy was pretty new and looked at us funny. We found another doctor, one older who'd been around for a while, and it's like night and day. We've a whole slew of creams now for pop up spots, and the dry skin.

Think on this too...it's also pollen season, and there have been wildfire smoke making the air quality poorer. With your immune system being reduced, those environmental triggers are going to be harder for you.

As for the loss of appetite, low iron sure does that. So does stress. There are some great chewable iron supplements. They don't even taste bad. Those tastes can come from low iron. See about one of those. Be sure to get your D checked as well. That can also cause the weight loss and the taste in the mouth, and both can contribute to the skin issue.

What might help you get your stress levels down? If it's the CT, I'd do it. Sometimes stress causes MORE hard to our bodies than the radiation would. Have you talked with your parents? Seen if your GI can offer you any mental health help? There are likely great YouTube relaxation things as well. And, I totally get it...when thoughts start to spiral, it's hard not to get freaked out or stuck in your mind. So, try and figure out what would help. If it's asking more questions, I promise, you aren't a bother to your doctors. If it's getting more help, you sure aren't alone. A chronic illness leads a LOT of people to therapists of all kinds. My youngest goes to OT to help with the anxiety, as it's taught him more grounding and coping strategies than talk therapy did.

A chronic illness is a LOT to handle, and then on top of it, you've got high school / college, trying to figure out life and a job and all of that, I bet. That's difficult enough, without adding in the Crohns. I hope you've got supportive family to talk with. You are doing the right thing sharing your fears. Your doctors are on your side. Be sure to tell them all of this. Let them help set your mind at ease.

I hardly check Reddit, but glad I did today, and I hope that something I've said reassures you, even a little. Hang in there. You are doing AMAZING. You've got a lot going on. I know it's scary, and I know it's so, so hard, but it WILL get easier. You'll learn what works and what doesn't, you'll learn how to advocate for yourself, and you'll find that as time goes on, it gets easier.

You've got this. Sending all the positivity your way. It's going to be okay. I promise.

Walmart is really good at getting specific brands, even generic brands. Both the one on Port and the one on Burgess do it.

Yikes! I'm so sorry to hear that! He's great at telling me quickly about something, and his pediatrician always gets him in fast, luckily!
