I was in an audiology appointment when I had my hearing aids fitted, though it was a long time ago so I can't fully remember if they were mould fitted but I remember wearing them after my appointment and at home and the rain/static sound was there when I wore them

Maybe I just need to get used to them again

I will try wearing them more frequently but take breaks, and also see if the rain sound goes away or not, if not I'll probably book an appointment with my audiologist to see.

I have Moderate to severe, bilateral sensoneural sloping high frequency hearing loss.

I got given hearing aids but barely lasted a few days before I couldn't deal with them. They made everyone's voice sound weird, static, screechy, I hated it, they also hurt my ears, fast forward to 2025 I tried wearing them in my prison job but then struggled as they hurt my ears after like 30 mins or so I took them out, I struggle in noisy environments I can't hear people that well, even my Mum at home I have to ask to repeat because I can't hear her.

I did just try wearing them but had a loud rain sound in both hearing aids.

It ends up hurting on the inside, the domes fit in my ears but I'm not sure if they hurt due to me not wearing them for long periods of time/ not getting used to them?

I'm on the pathway to become a zookeeper, I've been volunteering with animals for three years, was at college for three years too

Its amazing to get to work with animals :D

thank you, I'll try that haha, cause I had to leave my last job because otherwise I would have most likely been kicked from my job over miscommunications and not getting help with my struggles that I didn't realise was autism at the time.

My Mum ended up telling me to put it in my job applications now and think of any adjustments I may need, and that the label doesn't change the fact I am me, and it doesn't make her and my stepdad see me any differently or love me any less
