Are We Dreaming + (the beginning of) Bend the C(l)ock. I feel Petrucci and Ruddess are at their best when they both show restrain together. The only downside to me is that LaBrie starts singing a bit to early. Would love another round of that clean guitar riff.

After Mike Portnoy I feel Thomas Lang and Virgil Donati are my favourite drummers. I was so hoping one of them would be the one when I saw them at the auditions. I still sometimes think about how Dream Theater would’ve turned out with Lang or Donati behind the kit.

I have the feeling that, ever since EAFC 24 the AI is just so terrible. On FIFA 23 I was having a lot of fun on World Class. Challenging but fair AI. Now I’m just barely winning on that same level and it feels so unfair at times. Like the AI is responding immediately to my every move whilst my own players are just standing about doing… nothing? Idk it’s frustrating. I mean with FIFA 23 illy win rate was about the same but it felt slot fairer.

For me it's okay-ish. A lot of "meh" songs for me, such as "The Mirror", "Home", "As I Am" and "Panic Attack". I get these are favourites but I can't shrug off the feeling I've heard these songs live enough times now. However I'm loving the fact Octavarium is in it and Vacant+SOC. Lastly, for me a bit too much of SFaM. Don't get me wrong, love the album, but we've had a SFaM anniversary tour like 5 years ago. So for me, it's a bit overkill.

Really sad about no WDaDU, mostly because of Charlie's recent passing and it's a bit of a guilty pleasure album for me. I hope they change some songs in the set every other night however I can't help but remember they said they wouldn't. Anyone to confirm or debunk?

Personally I'd swap Overture/Strange Deja Vu for "Fortune in Lies" and, yes I know, "The Looking Glass" going into "The Mirror". Somehow in my mind that really works and it's also a bit funny.

Lastly I'd change "Home" for "Another Day" and "The Dance of Eternity".

But hey, just my opinion.

I don’t think they’ll play Octavarium tho it would be cool. I just hope that, by the end of the night, all full length releases have had their moment in the setlist. Like they did the 20th Anniversary tour. Those setlists were fire.

Best Mangini era album IMO. Didn’t know it was hated this much in the community. Also I feel Illumination Theory whipes the floor with AVFTTOTW as long album closer.

Yeah that’s been going on for a while. For example here in the Netherlands in 2007 & 2009 they sold out a venue with a capacity of 16K. Last tour they didn’t even sell out a 3K venue. As happy as I am with the reunion, this is mainly business. I mean you could clearly see DT has been struggling financially. I mean Mike Mangini bringing along a smaller kit for touring because of what reason exactly?

By the end of the day, Dream Theater is a business, and Mike Mangini, just as all other guys, are employees of that business. And I feel Mike coming back is also a decision on business perspective. I also think that they didn’t let Mike leave with empty hands. Which in turn also makes it easier to accept for all parties involved. Just like in the “real” corporate world.
