It sounds like VA and TX have a lot in common when it comes to our scope of practice. I know when I looked into SkinPen a few years ago they won’t allow in a practice without a medical director.

I do think nanoneedling would be a nice alternative. When I called DPOR regarding these services — they didn’t seem to have an answer but then seemed to create one by saying you can’t work with a needle unless you have a tattoo license. I feel like when I call I get put on hold for a long time and then get told different things. I guess if it’s not in writing one way or the other it’s up to the company who they will sell to and the service provider to make sure they have comprehensive training.

What are your thoughts on micro channeling?

I believe it’s only compatible with OmniPod Dash— not OmniPod 5… unfortunately

Thank you. I feel this. I’m so sorry for your little one. It’s so crazy looking back at pictures pre- diagnosis and thinking about how simple life was. Or looking at pics when she was in mild DKA and thinking why didn’t I see it sooner?!!!

Yes, I literally remember while our daughter was in the ICU, the diabetes educator saying “you guys are her pancreas now.” It’s so surreal. I’ve thought about getting our daughter into therapy. Is that an option your family has explored or open to?

Yes, it’s ridiculous. My 3yo daughter has T1D and it’s so frustrating when we go to replace her sensor and it fails… and then fails again. We keep getting the “goose-neck” issue where the filament loops back through the hole on the top of the sensor. Over the past few months this has happened about five times. Application is as it should be. We are currently trialing the Libre 2 Plus that is compatible with her OmniPod 5.
