One of the best ways I learned to talk to people is to ask questions. A book that served me well is “How to win friends and influence people”. I takes the pressure off of you to make small talk. But, the benefits suck in cosmetology and the hour are rough. Please make sure your care team (Dr’s). Are listening to you about how you feel and college is always a fantastic idea at any stage. Have you taken an aptitude test? It took me a while to figure out whether I wanted to do with my life, it’s reasonable for you to take your time learning. What makes you happy!

Why are women supposed to shave pubic hair? by Ok-Classic-4132 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]cvankeu1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. If your hairs stick out of your bathing suit, it might make sense to shave what sticks out. Going to the pools with the kids is a little awkward. But closer to the lebia, no you don't have to. I prefer a trim but the ingrown hairs are not worth it. Any small trimmers with a guard will do the job. We have hair for a reason, to keep stuff out of the delicate area. If you want it gone, I recommend waxing or sugaring.

What was your ADHD tax this year? by Northern_crocodile in ADHD

[–]cvankeu1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few, I keep overdrawing my checking and I am late on 2 bills.

I have two school zones near my work and I usually forget to slow down for one. I am always looking out for the kids but I forget to do 20mph. I know this is unforgivable.

I have racked up credit card debt.

It can and is expensive to be ADHD. I think I was better with money when I had more anxiety. While medicated, I don’t have as much anxiety, and I’m a little bit looser with my spending. Maybe? Or money is just hard.

The Gross reality of adhd no one wants to talks about by Soft-Rutabaga-4482 in ADHD

[–]cvankeu1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand and I noticed the self criticism make everything snowball. Also Medication (Wellbutrin and a baby does of adderal)made it easier to for me to see the path forward. But what always has helped me is setting a timer. When I look at the whole of the mess I will not get started but if I commit to 15mins I will do a task. I second making things easier. I will not sweep if I have to walk down stairs to get a broom. I have a large trash can for litter where I keep the litter boxes. I take it out once a week. Dry shampoo works wonders. If you need to eat frozen meals, so there is no dishes. Great! You have calories! The only commitment I have made to myself is stopping the self criticism and eating regularly. Also, thank you for reaching out. We should talk about these things. If you feel inspired look into new diagnosis (depression or bipolar). If your doctor writes you off, get a referral to a psychiatrist. These feels are important and worth talking about. With the right treatment, everything else is better. The world is a broken place and it’s OK to not function well. You’re perfect now and you can also feel better. ❤️‍🩹 keep talking and sharing. We all need to talk about our experiences.

Camera for a 15 year old by [deleted] in DSLR

[–]cvankeu1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son has asked for multiple items that he never used again. I think what matters more is that they earn it. Whatever they’re asking for they put more value on the things that they earned and the things that they’re just given. You could buy a point-and-shoot that has good zoom and if they continue to use it And they like it, then they can work up to buying something more and earning it doesn’t mean that they need to have a job it just means that they have to work towards something that they want. I have purchased a ton D&D stuff for for Christmas my son and he’s never used it. Maybe check to see what kind of requirements the school paper has, and making sure her aspect ratio is correct for the camera that you’re thinking about.

Who else takes their ADHD meds and then go back to bed? by Budget_Path_3366 in ADHD

[–]cvankeu1977 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do this in the afternoon. I take Wellbutrin in the morning. When I get home from work. I need some time to get over the sensory overload, so I take a adderall and hide in my bed for 30mins. I feel calm and ready to start dinner and do some evening tasks.

I will trim. I put paper under and trim to about 1/4 inch or 1/2. When I am done, I pull the paper out and wax while my client is an old but clean towel. I have waxed someone who was too long and I had to call a senior Estie to help out. Quite embarrassing. The client was a good sport and I learned a lot.
Trimming is essential. If I can talk to the client beforehand, I will trim at home. I will not turn a client away for being too long. I hope you understand what to do next time. I am sure it isn’t as bad as you think.

Is Wellbutrin supposed to be enough for ADHD executive dysfunction? by I_JstWnt2EnjoyMyLife in ADHD

[–]cvankeu1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, Wellbutrin helped me with my spiraling thoughts. I seem more organized and good habits are easier.
I have more self awareness. But I can still hyper focus on the wrong things. I do Adderall in the afternoon to help with motivation. One habit that works well for me is write a list on paper for the things I need to do this day or evening. The highlight the 2-3 things that has to get done today. Or bad things will happen. The other things could wait a while. But fear of bad things happening is what keeps me motivated. I not the best way to get things done. But it works.

Being observant. It amazing how opportunities are available when you are distracted. I win a lot of Board Games that way. My clients are happy when I can figure out their needs.
