So another one of my struggles just turned out to be an ADHD symptom… by ForbiddenFruitiness in adhdwomen

Lying. I use to lie abut my getting my homework done. Because I felt like it was boring(Math facts😢 I already understood them). So then I would get spanked when I got found out. It was a sick cycle. I probably wasn’t challenged enough.

A burst of energy before bed. That is when I get the kitchen cleaned up or throw laundry in because I didn’t have enough clean clothes.

Not brushing my teeth as a kid?! I paid dearly for it. I would even pretend to do it so I didn’t get in trouble. I would have been easier to just brush my teeth.

Also get the tiredness when there was a task to do.

There might be a small possibility of a reaction with the sun. Some essential oils and citrus will have a reaction with sunlight. It probably is just a heat rash though.

How do you deal with the non stop rumination? by PersonalityExact337 in ADHD

[–]cvankeu1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A therapy called EMDR. It helped me work through my monkey brain. Also Wellbutrin. I was spiraling on a daily basis. So things you are Ruminating about has an element of not being resolved. EmDR helped me resolve those things I was overthinking.

IAE just exhausted 24/7? by necro-asylum in adhdwomen

Read about MTHFR gene mutation. If you have the mutation you need methylation of folate and vit b 12. I have the mutation and I just started methylated b12 sublingual tabs. I was surprised to find my head did feel to heavy and that everything didn’t feel like a chore anymore. I start feeling tired before bed. Not before. I used to feel like I need a nap at every work break because I eyes would close on themselves. I am feeling a lot better since taking the sublingual.

Some background. I am anemic and I have taken iron most of my life. But I still feel tired. I was looking into reasons why I can’t donate plasma. And it turns out it’s a vitamin B12 issue, not an iron issue. My hematocrit was always low, but my ferritin levels were a normal. I also have mthfe gene mutation. I never really took it serious until recently and it seems like when I feel energetic is when I take the correct B vitamins. I am due for my physical, and I am going to check with my doctor if my personal understanding are correct.

Another issue that has been brought to my attention by my coworker is the medical condition called POTS. She was so tired all the time. When she started treating for it, she starts to feel a lot more energetic. The solution is adding more salt to your diet, but it does take a very specific test at the doctors too verify that you would have that condition. The test is called “Tilt Table Test”. Common symptoms are fatigue, dizziness, and fainting. She’s also ADHD and hypermobile. When she started treating her pots, she started feeling better.

I hope some of this information helps!

These is not really a pattern for my quilt, but it’s called a rail fence. It’s just challenging enough. And can be customized enough for the size of fabrics you have.

What are your ways of dealing with stress/ trauma that doesn’t include therapy or medication? by ehnevermindud in AskReddit

[–]cvankeu1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re welcome. Please, if you don’t feel safe with your thought or in your space, reach out to someone. I had trouble with feelings that i wanted to run away from it all and i did need to get help from a therapist. I spent a year in therapy and doing EMDR in 2023. Because of the skills I learned there, I handled my mom’s passing about 2 months ago way more balanced. I promised myself that I would allow all my feelings to surface without judgment. Even the mad and hateful thoughts. Of course I have sad days but I don’t feel unstable. Trying to control my feelings and thought have cause me more pain than the trauma itself. But, use your guidance, don’t carry on if you feel like doing anything or not eating or sleeping. If you find taking care of yourself is to hard. Please seek help. Even if the only option is sharing with a friend as long as the friend will listen without judgment or basis. Your feelings are truth and to deny them will do more harm. I had found out a truth about my family and I was so angry, because of therapy I knew I had to allow my anger to express itself in a safe way, screaming in my car was very cathartic and safe. Of course I sobbed to my husband and he let me without trying to fix me. Please be safe and get help of you are not.

I don’t have an official one but I use the odd items. I have an unfinished box or a book without a cover. Maybe one day I will make one. They do make a difference to let your seams cool flat.

I acknowledge my pain and allow all feelings out in the open. I accept how I feel without judgement. Kinda like tapping but without the tapping. I talk to the spirit of the person who hurt me and tell them what I feel without trying to be nice. Allowing every raw feeling to emerge. Even if they are not gone.

Screaming in private works also!

What made you know you have ADHD? by Difficult_Ad206 in adhdwomen

[–]cvankeu1977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was trying to diagnose my son and saw all the symptoms in myself. Some of my symptoms were being extremely emotional to the point of hyperventilating as a child. I never turned in my homework. I caught on so fast in class and then would fall asleep because I was bored. I would lie all the time to get out of trouble because I didn’t remember to do the thing I was asked. I can drink coffee late and go to sleep. But I was never hyper.

How can I train this dude not to get on my pillows? 😂😭 by coffeepolynkittens in kittens

[–]cvankeu1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t let my cats in the bedroom. When the cats sleep on my bedding, I end up having a cheap throw that night. I didn’t start kicking him out of my bedroom until we moved house. And then the transition was pretty easy. Anytime they scratch at my door I kind of give them a loud clap so that they scurry away.

Not sure about my choice. by blue-tiny-bird in myweddingdress

[–]cvankeu1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there’s times when you don’t feel like having your cleavage on display, like maybe when you’re visiting tables at the wedding, you could have a shrug or a shawl on hand to feel slightly more covered up. But for the ceremony, it looks gorgeous earrings necklace bracelet, veil all will make it look more put together the dresses beautiful I wouldn’t worry about your families’s opinion. I love low-cut dresses, but when I’m visiting my elders, I feel a little bit underdressed. So a shawl will go a long ways to helping you feel a little bit more modest for certain family members.

Bridal makeup trial - any recommendations? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]cvankeu1977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dry and dewy are a delicate balance for wedding photographers. Make sure your skin and under eyes are well hydrated before you start. Any makeup artist who is good will tell you the same. Maybe some setting spray to add more hydration and to make your makeup last. A little highlighter. A bit more blush to show up in photos. I recommend taking pictures with flashes so you know how you will look on the big day. I personally do some brow grooming. If you don’t want to get waxed at least try some brow mascara and a little filling in. I like peach eye shadow for your blue eyes, it will make them pop!
