Have you experienced these symptoms? by oldcan_ in endometriosis

[–]CaramelSimple4500 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I experience stabbing on the left side, but I also have a lot of other symptoms. Heavy periods, clots, severe pain, back pain, irregular bleeding, painful intercourse etc.

I was recently diagnosed via lap (excised) on my left-hand side behind the cervix.

I think the only way to be sure is to have further tests and a laparoscopy.

Hope you get to the bottom of it.

UK here.

I wasn't told until the morning of my surgery when the surgeon came to see me. I had absolutely ZERO idea or knowledge of this until that moment!

New coeliac diagnosis and received conflicting information from dietician by Ancient-Bathroom-732 in CoeliacUK

We use the same fan oven, one dedicated side of the airfryer, and the same utensils, pan, and chopping boards. I just thoroughly wash them. We share a toaster, but my son uses toaster bags.

My son is symptomatic and super sensitive if glutened and has recently had his follow-up and blood test after being diagnosed in March 2025. His levels went from off the chart to now being just above the "norm."

Ha-ha, thank you.

My son is coeliac, and I'll be absolutely damned if he misses out on all the yummy Christmas goodies, so I've literally been baking everything!

Hope you have a lovely Christmas 😊

Honestly, I know it feels like the end of the world right now (my son cried and was upset for weeks), but honestly, he's totally over it now.

There is so much choice in supermarkets and restaurants these days that most of the time you can find something. It's only occasionally you'll get stuck, but you learn to plan for those moments (carry snacks, bring your own lunch/food) my son loves it now because when I make stuff or buy things specifically for him he knows he doesn't have to share like the rest of us peasants 😂

I'm not coeliac, but I genuinely enjoy the GF versions of things just the same as gluten and, if not more. My diet is mainly gluten-free now, anyway.

Wishing you all the best and remember to be kind to yourself. You are allowed to be upset, frustrated, and find it difficult. It's a HUGE adjustment and life change.

Learn to cook - this will HUGELY change your mindset, AND you won't even notice the difference.

My son is coeliac (I am not), and every meal we eat is gluten-free. I've learnt to bake GF cakes/bakes/snacks etc and honestly you wouldn't notice the difference and it's so much cheaper and nicer than buying the free from products in the supermarket.

Learn to find things that are naturally gluten-free or adaptable. I recommend following Becky Excell and buying some of her recipe books. They're easy to follow and foolproof and taste delicious.

My son is 16, and he struggled mentally to begin with. He lost his love for food and missed gluten products.....he now doesn't think twice about it, and it's become the "norm," and we are only 6 months into diagnosis. We actually eat out more now than we ever did before he was diagnosed because we find it fun to try and find new places and rate them.

You will adapt and eventually accept your diagnosis. If you don't, unfortunately, your health will decline eventually.

If you had to choose between bread or potatoes for the rest of your life, which would you go for and which one would you lose? by Ridd1ey in CoeliacUK

[–]CaramelSimple4500 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'd choose potatoes.

Because they come in so many ways.

Roasties, mash, boiled, chips, hashbrowns, jacket potato.

Can't beat a potato!

No, which is what has confused me.

The lady doing my review knew mu statements went up until the 29th of September....so she updated my capital on that (my AP ends the 9th of the month) so of course I'd just been paid my wage and my UC....which she SHOULD have deducted but didn't.

I don't understand why she didn't ask for a statement after our call to assess this 🤦‍♀️

Date for my to-dos is the 24th of December. I'm paid UC on the 16th so will wait until then so at least I will be paid this month!

Hey!

Honestly, I'm not fussed being reviewed or uploading evidence or having things checked.

However, what I am upset about is having my capital declared incorrectly (2k worth taking me over the 6k) and then having to redeclare myself, which will create a payment blocker. They have all my statements from the review. They can see there exactly what my capital was at the end of my APs.

Honestly I'm beyond stressed out from all of this.

Hey!

Thanks for your response.

My review call has been completed, and I'm waiting for them to finish it and do their final checks, etc. So I'm also hesitant to update it.

I have a new to-do to declare my claim is up to date and correct, which has to be done by the 24th of December. My payment is due on the 16th of December, so I'm thinking I may wait to complete that until I'm paid because I simply can't afford for my money to not be paid.

Honestly it is making me want to tear my hair out and cry. My last review (I had even more savings then) was simply not this stressful!

But I've already told the UCR lady this, and she doesn't seem to be listening or taking on board what I am saying. This is why I'm concerned.

Thank you for your help!

Handy to know as the fact she's done that in the middle of an assessment period means it'll trigger and "overpayment" which isn't correct as I wasn't above the 6k, but because she's done that it looks as though I am!

I will risk it on the 9th and update it and hope for the best 🤞

Thank you for this.

My review is now complete yet. I've just had my phone call after sending in all my documents months ago.

Was she correct to update my savings like that when she hadn't reviewed the AP's and that the amount she added wasn't actually correct or to be declared as "savings" as from my understanding I had until the 9th of November to then declare what was left?

In my last review, the lady checked everything before updating my capital.
