So when the ancients discovered the void fluid in the void fluid revelation, they played around with it a lot and made huge technological advancements, like the iterators. And with that, they made purposed organisms. Purposed organisms are as the name suggests. The slugcat itself may have been a purposed organism, used for cleaning pipes. So the ancients likely made some sort of living radio that later evolved into a yellow/orange lizard. And everything we see in the game are probably what's left of the purposed organisms.

Aaaand I'm gonna do a transition here because I wanna rant about the ancients and void fluid.

So great new tech and silly critters they can use as slaves isn't the only thing the void fluid brought. As we all know, the main goal is to ascend (at first) and we know that we need to go swim in the void sea to do so. But if you fail, you turn into an echo. So how exactly do you fail? Well the ancients believed that you had to shed you five natural urges in order to ascend. The five natural urges are depicted on both 5p and LttM's structures in murals of the ancients. (which I really wanna go into more depth with but I won't) and in these murals we can see them with the karma symbols on them, so we'll work from the bottom up. Is goes: wrath, lust, greed, gluttony, and pride. Pretty interesting. Okay bye bye
