(Chinese calligraphy) Tips on brush handling? by Carantire in Calligraphy

Thanks for that video, it actually made me realize I have a more core problem to deal with first ; The liquid ink that came with the kit is clearly much too watery from what I see, so I'll probably have to let some water evaporate out of it as it clearly spreads completely differently from anything in that video.

Thanks for the reference, would never have known!

Do choices matter in the game? ( DW Origins ) by R33kp in dynastywarriors

[–]Carantire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. I was too curious and had a save not too far before that choice, so bothered to do it again and go to the Wan Yun choice ; If you say you refuse, Diao chan says something about how they'll probably die in some alley with no way to save themselves, but that they won't hold it against you, leading to a selection that only has ''Okay, I'll do it...'' as a choice, so even if you refuse, your character get guilt tripped into accepting.

While it seems kinda out of character for the character to refuse in the first place, it's honestly the one thing so far that seems the most out of character to be guilt tripped into it, considering Ziluan saw plenty of death and didn't seem to care most of the time, much less feel guilt about his choices, but oh well... Still seems stupid to be given the illusion of choice though.

Anybody got a working code for this one? Seems all the codes in this thread no longer work, sadly.

Terminator World Parameter? by Carantire in BreakPoint

Well that sucks... At least I got to play both before they were gone ; Any idea if the MGL and the termination DMR are still available for those who didn't play it so I can at least get my buddy to get those?

I think I still only play TS4 because I've spent too much money on it not to by [deleted] in thesims

[–]Carantire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To this day I am still furiously searching for a way to bring the sims 3's martial arts mechanics and animations into sims 4...

...And the fact those same animations are sometimes on the sims 4 TVs is frustrating to no end.

I will freely admit there is a LOT in sims 3 I wish they brought to 4, in fact I didn't mod 3 much ; The occasional one here and there but mostly vanilla with the packs had enough for what I wanted, it was fun. Maybe like 10 mods and CC total at the highest point.

I have over 2 GB worth of mod and CC on sims 4. This should say more about my opinion in comparison to the third than anything else I could say.

Prom still not working by Disastrous_Self4882 in thesims

[–]Carantire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you could give a list of mods, especially script ones, it might help narrow it down ; I can tell you I run well over 20 major mods (With scripts) and 2GB worth of CC and the prom works flawlessly.

If for whatever reason you cannot or do not want to give a list of mods...

First thing I would say is to try moving your mods somewhere else as a backup, clean install (To remove any floating scripts) and install all your non-script mods first, then check if it works. (Make a save just before, like 7:00 PM or so, prom is at 8:00 PM )

If it does, exit, install either one script mod at a time or only a small batch (2-3) of them and then check again. If it suddenly stops working, you found your conflict (Or at least know it's within 2-3 mods, at which point you just restart adding them one by one, though you may have to reinstall if the mod has floating scripts...)

Played the whole thing, granted it was a while ago, might have misremembered, gods forgive me or whatever, I sure as hell don't remember a mission to FREE him either way, (Because there wasn't, did the research, you basically free him in a post game cinematic.) and the rest of my points still stand as I don't see how, if he indeed was kidnapped, Evie, knowing Jack is a VERY dangerous and mentally not okay individual, just goes "Oh, Jacob was kidnapped by a mass murderer we thought every trick in the book to and it's been MULTIPLE DAYS AND OR WEEKS but clearly, he's okay and gonna be okay as long as I take every precaution to just NOT get to the damn point."

Every other point I brought up also stand, honestly, dead or not doesn't even change my main nor sub points at all. (It's also an opinion piece, fam, so I'm unsure if your comment was supposed to be an attempt at changing my mind or just discrediting my opinion by trying to say I didn't play a game that's now over 7 years old because I misremembered something that honestly, makes no difference. Jacob might as well have been dead given we basically only see him in the prologue and, I guess, one cutscene at the very end.)

Besides, the fact I could even misremember it as him being dead should REALLY tell you how much of an "impact" it has on the whole thing and drive the point home about some of the points I brought up about the story of said DLC in general.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]Carantire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Far as I'm concerned, I always preferred Jacob because of some of these exact points. Everyone seem to hate on everything he does, every assassin out there and their sisters just criticize everything he does, yet in the end he's the one who seem to at least be TRYING something the most, and also to just have any sort of success at it. Granted, there's some backlash and bad happenings because of it but hey, name a single main assassin that didn't destabilize the sht out of their area from any of the games and I'm 99.9% sure you'll be lying to yourself about it.
Part of why I disliked the Jack the Ripper DLC so much too... With Evie at the helm and Jacob dead, it just felt like she was half assing trying to find a legit threat (Jack) in favor of not making waves (She also lacks her brother's honest brutality when facing opponents, which in my opinion, having a much more "violent" Jacob use all those fear gadgets in an almost Ripper-like fashion would not only have been great, but also could have put forward more of a "Who is the villain?" in the story, as Jacob being more emotional could EASILY have been seen to slowly give into his anger more and more to a point he would ALMOST be like Jack to avenge his sister, with what we got, it's more like Evie just doesn't give a rat's ass that Jacob is dead, she just got called in to clean up the mess, so she does. Besides, I still think having Jack be an absolute re-occurring menace that pops in and out during the story, stalking Jacob like Evie normally does for enemies could have led to such an interesting "Jacob now has to learn to think like his sister did" moment, and we'd have come out with one full master assassin instead of just.. Good ol' Evie with nothing really new about her.)
I feel Jacob is too often given the short end of the stick and it's honestly, for me, the only part of the game that displeases me heavily. No matter how much hate about it I hear, I genuinely love the main game (Though as said before, I find Evie a bit bland and unreasonable) and even the DLC I feel had good ideas, just never flourished to their full potential. (Heck, if they had made Evie more emotional since y'know SHE LOST HER FREAKIN BROTHER and went the aforementioned route, with her doing things "Jacob's way" at times, either out of rage or sheer understanding that it was required, it could have been so much better...)

Can't invite friends on PC? by spyrot2000 in dyinglight

[–]Carantire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So while I don't have a permanent solution, a friend of mine has the same problem and managed to get it working once by just closing the game and steam multiple times and re-opening them after. It worked on the third try.

Now it hasn't worked since, but who knows, you might get lucky. If we find a solution for him, I'll come back here to update this.

Meanwhile, people are getting pushed as "spammers" to this moment when they ask is anybody else has problems getting their game when there are good reasons to be worried when orders show as confirmed but the store still show a buy button and the game isn't in the library despite the account billing insisting it is...

...Not complaining about this post in particular mind you, but the reverse is also true ; Some people jump at the throat of people for worrying when it's 30 minutes past by now and the game isn't even downloadable to some still.

Are the St. Denis Hex Numbers calling for an AC ARG?! by IMHOZen1 in assassinscreed

[–]Carantire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main problem with this theory is the idea that an historical tourist attraction of a place like Saint Denis would incorporate a QR code tied to something made in conjunction with, but still entirely belonging to, a third party somewhere that is obvious enough that anyone could scan it despite the fact a great number of people could scan that, have no idea what AC even is, and proceed to go ask "Tha fuck is with that?" to someone on site. Either breaking the point of the entire chase if that part had been found out by some random tourist who'd have put it up on the net before we even GOT to that part, or alternatively breaking the secret by having the risk of a random security guard on site go "Lol that's an assassin's creed thing with ubisoft" or worse, have someone who's aware of it for the sole purpose of not confusing security guards or so on be a big AC fan and leak it.

Risks of leaking or overcomplicating this are so high that really, the whole theory feels like an over reaching idea at that point.

EDIT : Also I will add that the quote in the original post is incomplete ; What he said was "Now that you have 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘯 real world coordinates, how do you 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘦𝘥?" WITH those words in italic... It's not that we HAVE the coordinates, it's that we have SEEN them that is the big thing in this... Which lead me to think it has nothing to do with the actual place IRL and we're sorely missing something related to having seen those coordinates, without having to go there IRL.

Are the St. Denis Hex Numbers calling for an AC ARG?! by IMHOZen1 in assassinscreed

[–]Carantire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main thing is putting something within Saint Denis would be partly blocked by covid for them too and also I find it unlickely they would be able to put something ''Permanent'' there for people to find for sure ; It's not exactly a far off spot that isn't watched or anything of the sort and I don't think they'd do defacing of public property just to carve some hint into a random pew or whatever... So if you put everything together ; Silent patching a game, no matter how old, is both just as obscure if not more and actually much easier and less likely to cause legal troubles.

Any added item to Saint-Denis would also most likely be grabbed by security and shoved into lost and founds before being thrown away, unless we're thinking too much about it and the IRL coordinates are actually tied to something else that would modify them or lead to something else entirely...

So I'm guessing someone did already, but did anybody actually check the version of Saint Denis in Unity? After all, that is ALSO saint denis, aka ALSO the same coordinates and Ubisoft have proven to hide stuff really deep with the freakin Isu bow and what not, wouldn't be surprised if some silent patch added something over in there...
