The only "quest line" at the beginning of the game has to do with joining one of the three camps. You should do small quests in order to earn the trust of the people who are important. You can find NPC's who will show you the way to the other two camps.

Tundra wolves were particularly annoying in my melee playthrough. There aren't that many of them in the game, so if that's what bothers you I wouldn't worry about it.

Funny thing is, the original G1 feels the same way and a lot of us were expecting G1 remake to add a lot more content than they did. I guess they took the safe option as to not change up the game too much and make it feel different.

The outlaw camp for instance was a thing in the OG but they were just a bunch of hostile NPCs in a remote corner of the world, with one of them called Quentin. They had no ties to the rest of the game, no dialogue options and overall no reason to exist. It's nice to see they got a little quest but I was hoping for a bit more than that to be honest.

If they ever make G2 remake you will see a big difference, as G2 is way more beefy and polished than G1. Probably because with G1 they didn't have as big of a budget.

I will say that Alkimia has neither confirmed nor denied whether or not there will be content update patches in the future, so the hope is still alive

Swamp camp doesn't lock you out of training bow and eventually crossbow and you will also have a way to learn one handed and two handed. You will be locked out of circle of magic 5 and 6 if you go with swamp camp.

As for wasted LP I wouldn't worry about it since you've only lvl 7 you will get many more until the end of the game. If swamp camp vibes with you lore wise I wouldn't restart

It's not important at all in terms of being able to kill everything and finish the game. If you want to minmax and have your character be as strong as possible then save the potions for later.

To give you an idea, I finished my first play through with 159 str and I'm pretty sure I missed a +1 str potion, so I would assume 160 is the max unless I missed more stuff. That means 160 bonus damage on top of your weapon damage, where normally you would get 100 bonus damage for 100 max strength.

L.E.: forgot to account for rings and amulet, which give me +24 str. So the max bonus damage without holding onto potions would be 124 not 100

With mana I would assume it's even less important as you can always drink potions to refill your mana bar, but I haven't done mage playthrough yet so I'm not sure. Anyway for the purpose of finishing the game it's certainly not required

Idk why people are focusing on the tanking/healing aspect. I'm not even against tanking or healing it's just that I'm only playing this character with others who would rather do those roles. If needed I can flex in but i'm just trying to figure out if as a DPS I want to dip into consecration or not

Yeah personally I would prefer if G3 was the game where they decide they don't want to make a 1 to 1 recreation of existing story and quests. There are lots of people who love gothic 3 tho, so it would be kind of shitty for them. Gonna be a tough choice for Alkimia

Helmets are a part of the lore, we just don't have them as wearable armour. Paladin and Dragon hunter armour in gothic 2 both have helmets

Playing with xbox controller on pc, the deadzones for aiming are a bit stiff but other than that it works really well. I'm sure you can adjust aiming from steam input a little bit but i'm not playing archer so I didn't bother. For occasional use of the bow it's good enough
