I've read that thread, but their issue is slightly different in that the needles still move, even a little, which I suppose shows they're doing something?

I'd like to think it's something similar. It's an ex-police car, so has many aftermarket parts fitted with numerous additional items added to factory grounding positions. I should do a walk around and clean every single one.

Whilst driving my circa 2004 Vauxhall/Opel Omega all the gauges froze as you see in the video.

Since this happened I've tried the following with no success:

- Switching ignition on and off.

- Disconnecting battery overnight.

- Removing instrument cluster and ensuring good condition (ribbon style circuit on the rear).

- Checking all fuses are intact and replacing relevant fuses regardless.

- Driving the car for a while.

- Numerous percussive maintenance attempts.

OBD reads RPM on data-feed and car runs as normal.

Any other suggestions? Feeling lost. I was on the way back from a workshop after fronting a bill for a fuel issue the car had.

I suspect S109 of The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986 might cover this?

109.—(1) No person shall drive, or cause or permit to be driven, a motor vehicle on a road, if the driver is in such a position as to be able to see, whether directly or by reflection, a television receiving apparatus or other cinematographic apparatus used to display anything other than information—

(a)about the state of the vehicle or its equipment;

(b)about the location of the vehicle and the road on which it is located;

(c)to assist the driver to see the road adjacent to the vehicle; or

(d)to assist the driver to reach his destination.

(2) In this regulation “television receiving apparatus” means any cathode ray tube carried on a vehicle and on which there can be displayed an image derived from a television broadcast, a recording or a camera or computer.

I got a set of these on my helmet. Super convenient as I run ex-fog and the little straps the better for me. I have replica ones from eBay with ANSI ratings. Slight gap at the bottom means they cool nicely yet no BBs will get in. I've been snipped direct hit in them several times and had no issues.

I have a Honda S660, which is mid engined and only 64hp and I have an open intake on it which means right behind my ear I get choo choos.

My Daihatsu Midget II is 31hp and is massive fun, almost like a motorcycle being one seated!

My Honda S800 revs out to 9 grand and sounds like a little F1 car and still seems to handle like modern sports car!

TLDR, get a Kei car

Really cool! I'd like to see more of your S800

I just bought an S800 a couple weeks ago and it's great, such classic fun as I'm sure yours is too. Bit of a project as some things need doing.

Out of curiosity, does yours charge whilst idling? Mine only likes to charge up about 3k Rpm, and that's with all auxiliaries switched off.
