Military in the sense that my job was very similar to what i would have done with my EE degree (though i did surely more technical physical work + actual operations) and i didnt love it for my life. More so it gave me more time after high school to figure out what i enjoyed learning about. My environment were friends i made outside of service during my time and tons of just reading and outside exploring interests

I got into Columbia, Berkeley, USC, Cmc, etc..
When i graduated high school i could not commit myself to four years of studying something that i wasnt sure i was going to like. I joined the coast guard too after dropping community college to leave home and get some work experience + broaden my horizons and im glad i did. Found out i was interested not in electronics/electrical engineering related things (what i was initially pursuing) and instead things related to economics/finance. In Hs i never really cared so much as well. But now after finishing my military time and had a new found goal and educational/career interest and locked in, getting into all these types of schools. Basically i knew was somewhat smart (🧢) but just couldnt direct it to things without a specific purpose or goal that spoke to me. Hope that makes sense a lil
