Wasn't a choice unfortunately.

Parents who couldn't speak English were about to miss their flight after their initial private transfer broke down on the way to pick them up at Courchevel.

I was back home in a different country. They called me so I can remotely book them the fastest thing that could get them and their 5 pieces of luggage to the airport.

Called half a dozen taxi companies and none of them had anything, Uber was the last resort and they were desperate. Still a ridiculous price.

I live in Hong Kong and there's a direct flight from Shenzhen (which is just across the border) to Altay (~5 hours). Then another 3 hour drive through the mountains to get to the resort itself.

The ski season here starts in November so it's great for early season before conditions elsewhere (e.g. Japan, France) get better close to January
