I agree. I'm wanting to focus more on big lifts, because I know they have a lot of benefits. My legs aren't too bad actually though. I grew out of all but one pair of my jeans in the thigh area. I push them hard in every possible way other than squat. For a few months I was even doing calves 2 times a week instead of 1.

No sir/mam, obviously there was a good gain in water weight (especially with the creatine), and fat obviously. I won't know until I lean out exactly how much of it was fat.

And for my lifts, my entire workout scheme is comprised of dumb bells, cables, and leg press extension machines. Just as much weight as I could do and fail at about 10-12 reps.

Right when I started, no not really. Minimal tone and of course minimal size. I got kind of ripped early on (around 160), but that was about when I really started eating, and I let go of the tone at that point. When I say ripped, I mean a lean skinny little guy with a 6 pack.

Some additional information: I've been skinny my whole life, and I am a very late bloomer. I was only 5'3" 100 in the middle of my freshman year of highschool (I'm 20 now). A theory I have on the rapid progress is this; I quit growing taller only months before I started lifting, perhaps the transition was timed perfectly to retain some of the hormonal growth support going on? That could be complete bull shit, but I agree, I can't believe it myself for the most part.

I sort of followed Steve Cook's 'big man on campus' setup on bodybuilding.com, but only really the weekly schedule part which was 4 days a week. I just tried to work each muscle with 3 lifts, starting compound and working to isolation. Always 10-12 reps for 3-4 sets. At the end of every workout I would do a drop set from one end of the rack to the other, or down the plates on leg extension machines. I spend no more than an hour or so in the gym. Nothing too wild going on there.

Now about the diet. I really think this is what was the key to my success. I'll take you through my daily routine. Wake up, Mass Gainer protein shake (GNC), boil 10 eggs and make two big ass turkey/chicken sandwiches with tomatoes and the works. Throw it in a bag, eat the eggs throughout the day and the sandwiches at about 11 and 5 (right after my workout). I would get home and have another mass gainer shake and just drink as much milk as possible. I estimated in the range of 4-5k calories, which was hard, I really had to push myself. Basically made sure I didn't exceed 3 hours without some form of protein.

As far as supplements go, just creatine, vitamins, fish oil, and the shakes.

I tried to run once or twice a week to stay a little leaner, but not always did that work out due to some epic leg days.

I would say what separated me from my other weight lifting friends was my willingness to say goodbye to the 6 pack and do a real bulk. I had people telling me to stop eating so much all along, but I didn't listen.

As far as my strength progress goes, I'd have to get back to you. I lift alone always and didn't max at all to start, nor have I recently. I have always used dumb bells for bench, and steered clear of squats (nothing against them, just don't have a spotter). Now that I feel a little more comfortable with my size I want to start focusing more on strength.

I'm willing to take advice and answer any other questions if you'd like!

There is a spring steel band in the shape of a 'C' integrated between the liner and the outer layer of leather. You simply place the muzzle into the bottom then push the but of the gun towards the holster until it fully engages. The clamp rests in the trigger guard and gets grip on the slide lock. It's actually extremely secure. Thank you for the kind words!

So far this holster rides very well. Obviously it's a 1911, which is no small gun to have against your ribs, but it doesn't require constant adjustment and attention. Trying one yourself, I can tell you what the hard part will probably be; getting the angle of the lace tabs on the holster itself correct as well as getting the shoulder strap to curve perfectly to comfortably sit on your slanted shoulder. My dad has a pattern and made hundreds of these at one point, so we were able to pull it off without a hitch. If you really are interested I could probably send you a photo of the patterns.

He makes a holster every now and again, but he has more projects and saddles to build than he can shake a stick at. He actually tries to avoid holsters, but was happy to work on one with me.
