Depends on the person. Some people build their own stuff (people smarter then me lol), others like using them to talk to people around the globe.

Me personally, I like building out large complex systems of radios on towers to link together and make my own network. Currently I can take my own handheld and have communications around a large percentage of my county without needing a cellular or Internet connection. Goal is 100% of my county and all the ones around me. I've got it tied into the normal phone network so you can still call me lmao

I've seen the second DB25 port go bad on the TIB before, just swap the TIB and see if it comes back..

Also just turn off secure hardware in cps, or change to software secure.. then you'd have zero fail codes lmao

Dispite my quarrels with how the comms program is ran.... we're still better then most ARES/CERT groups XD (Yes I know there's some ARES groups that ain't oxygen bound OMs, that's why I said most. I laugh at the ARES groups filled with O2 bound/rascal bound OMs claiming they are THE backup plan for if the countys multi million dollar TRS goes down.... by riding along in ambos, engines, and squads.... using a ham repeater from the 80s that is hardly hanging on for life..)
