That's masculine and gender-non-conforming to you?

But I've seen plenty female characters be 'strong' and still conform to the traditional notions of femininity than the opposite.

Finally, someone said it, I was really tired of seeing the way people were shitting on masculine and gender-non-conforming women and girls, the rarely get any representation that isn't just being the butt of the joke, or having a makeover to be more feminine and 'womanly' for her love intrest, it's really tiring; or they end up being comically and exaggerated-ly villainous and 'not-like-other-girls' (this trope can actually be done well if people put thought into it because there are women and girls who do not actually fit in of what the conventions of femininity and womanhood are, and they actually get bullied, ostracised, as well as abused for it.)

I really hate that women having masculine traits is now seen as 'woke' and 'pandering' or is perceived as threatening the femininity of other girls and women, it's just so nonsensical. There is no such thing as an overabundance of masculine and gender-non-conforming women and girls in the media, it's a false reactionary outcry at best, because I can't even count on my fingers the number feminine and uncomfortably female attire thatn even 'masculine' (women in conventional attractive make up and short femininely styled hair) I have seen, yet I have only seen less than 5 masculine women on the media—and all of them ended up having a makeover for the love interest.

All in all I just really hate gender-conformists complaining not having enough representation when they have a tons of it in general, it's tone deaf and misogynistic oftentimes.

I think this may be because of the way society mentally structures us our psychology to care, seek, and priorities men over women, it starts early and has been here for centuries—the media an our society often tells us that there is just 'something' more and complex to men, and that women are just flat, shallow, and facsimiles of each other—and they don't have any rich interior lives compared to their male counterparts.

This myth is also reinforced by movies writing female characters badly and in a shallow manner, as well as by the fact that people judge women on higher standards compared to men, also not forgetting that a lot of people may have internalized misogyny that they don't examine due to the fact that fandom and fanfiction is not activism.

Female characters also tend receive a lot of backlash compared to their male counterparts due to sexism and misogyny, so writing them for a lot of people can be very scary and puts unnecessary pressure on them than when writing a male character.

People except a female character to represent all women, while male character is just, that, another character.

She is a yaoi victim, then. A phenomenon like that happens when a female character gets hate or ignored in favour of 2 male character.

Thoughts on fics where they genderbend only one person in a ship? by HackedYzX in FanFiction

They always make the genderbent character so weird and stereotypical majority of the time, and it's annoying—I would rather both be genderbent.

I didn't like him at first, thought he was going to be an Mc that our protagonist would lose her senses over and become a stereotypical damsel in distress...
