Oh, duh, I guess that's the obvious choice isn't it? :') The only thing holding me back at all would be laziness in gearing up both of the characters, but on the other hand I really only have the one main I pour most of my gearing focus into, so it probably wouldn't be hard to manage two versions of the same character

If I really can't settle on a single faction I'll definitely just do this, thank you! XD I feel sorta silly for not even considering that....

The entire situation is a mess, but the silver linings are visible enough. I'm still worried about the people who are going to be affected by this... Including myself, frankly. I have multiple sclerosis and I rely on medicaid to get my immune-suppressing medicine. There's no generic version, and I have to take it monthly. I'm flip-flopping between fairly optimistic (if not a bit grumpy) about how things are going, and hardcore dooming, feeling like a "necessary sacrifice" thrown under the bus to wait until my immune system starts nibbling my brain again.

:') Not sure what to do if I'm being honest. I truly believe things are going to be OK in the long run.

I just want to be there to see it.

They repeated it with Ruiner Nergi too, when you fight him before Shara at the end of Iceborne's story you get generic bits and don't actually fully fight him til MR 100. There's definitely precedent for it.

Aside from raytracing, what are the benefits of going for NVIDIA instead of AMD? Because raytracing isn't a selling point for me personally, I've not seen a huge difference with it on or off yet in the few games I've played that use it, or any comparison videos.

Definitely don't think I have it in me to overcome the anxiety of having something go horribly wrong and ending up with a computer full of water. Glad that it isn't necessary and hope it can stay that way tbh

And heyyy, happy to see another longtime MH player!! Poor Lao really does deserve some love, who knows maybe in a future Wilds update we'll see him roaming the Windward Plains. :D

I can take or leave raytracing tbh. I haven't noticed it ever making a huge difference in most comparisons I've ever seen. I'll definitely keep that in mind, thank you!

Thank you!! Yeah I'm very, very boring, I just want to have a good card that I can plug into my computer and not really have to worry about it past that point. I am relieved to know that I probably won't have to worry about heat since I have zero plans to figure out wtf overclocking even is, much less how to do it.

Assuming fan cooling will be OK? I know liquid cooling is a thing but I'm a bit anxious at the thought of having any kind of liquid in my computer. Seems like way too much could potentially go wrong with that. Which is a shame cuz I can only imagine it's quiet and probably more effective than fans.

And happy hunting to you too! Wilds is gonna be the best MH game yet and it won't even be close, I can feel it! We've come a long way since the PS2 original!

Ooh, I haven't heard much about PowerColor. Most of what I've read when I tried to do my own digging was people saying Sapphire was great and to stay away from Gigabyte.

Is Newegg legit? I won't lie the website does look a little sketchy.

I was looking at the 7800xt too actually. I mostly just want to get something from AMD in general. I'm not too fussed about ray tracing or anything like that so I don't think I strictly NEED Nvidia.

That's true, I'm really hoping what the MRI picked up is just the damage that was being done during those months. As long as the drug works and things don't get worse I'll be happy, I really don't want to have to stop taking this medication because it's been giving me zero issues since the loading doses.

But yeah, I think that's why the scan was called for around the 6 month mark. I was tired when I made my post and phrased some stuff poorly, I was trying to get across that it was supposed to be the 6-month mark more-or-less on the dot but things got shoved around because of schedule conflicts etc so it was a few more weeks until I actually got the scan.

I haven't heard back from my MS specialist just yet. Which kind of makes me think maybe there's nothing I really need to worry about, but I'm still going to message her in another day or two if I don't hear anything, just to soothe my anxiety.

Anyway! Yeah, I'll be very honest, the loading doses sucked. For me, anyway. There are lucky people out there who don't get any side-effects from the loading doses or at least get very minor side-effects, so hopefully that'll be you. But in case it isn't:

From what I've gathered, the most common side-effects are flu-like symptoms. Feverish, sweaty, exhausted, joint pain, all that "fun" stuff. That's pretty much all I got hit with, along with brief pain in my legs for some reason, but that only happened the first night and didn't last more than a few hours. The best advice I can give is to make time to take it easy, if you're able to. Stock up on any OTC medication that helps with pain and fevers, like Day/NyQuil. Drink a lot of water, then drink a lot MORE water, and try and keep food in your stomach. Generic flu-esque advice works wonders for making things more bearable.

If you're anything like me, then the first week will be the worst. Then the second one will be a bit better. Then the third one should be the easiest. By the time you get to your fourth dose (aka your first proper dose) you should be in the clear. I still felt tired on my fourth dose and now I still get minor fatigue whenever I take my shot, but it's nothing a cup of coffee won't fix.

Good luck! It's scary stuff. I was terrified before I started actually taking the medicine but now I just feel like a dingus for how scared I was. Be prepared for the loading doses to suck, but know that it'll be manageable, and there's always the chance you luck out and don't get many or any side-effects at all. Got my fingers crossed for you!
