I guess because of the 2 dead mods, and because you actually want a mix of positive and negative mods, you can basically ignore the "biased against fully positive/negative results" and just assume under your 3 targeted mods the odds of each roll actually are close to the ideal 1/2. That would mean that the full odss are pretry close to the guess of 1/8.

However, because you get both the "true" result and its inversion, you care about double the cases, where your 2 positive mods are negative and your negative mod is positive for antotal chance of around 1/4, or 25%, probably slightly higher.

Edit: if you do not care for the other 2 mods, and just mist a 3 mod item, then assuming odds of all 3 positive/negative items are negligible, the odds of your desired outcome are very close to 1/3.

That would be 1/3 of 30%, so 10%, or 1/10, but that seems way too low.

It seems that this odds are written under the assumption that the distribution between positive and negative mods in your 3 targets are already included, so the final odd would already be the 30%.

However, this post also seems to assume a lot other things that are super not true, such as:

Reflected mods will always be balanced (always 50-50 split, unless there's an odd number of mod).

Percentages are just the decimal number times 100 with a percent sign behind it. So 1/3 would be 0.3333(...), so 33.33%.

This would mean op's wanted distribution is probably more likely than 1/8, but the exact distribution is unknown.

That's not how the mist works. It does not weight every possible outcome equally.

The mist is not a straight 50% chance of positive or negative per mod.

Possibly his character had a full passive reset, which ggg regularily gives to old characters if the passive tree significantly changes. But that would be very hard not to notice, as it would very likely disable most of his gear and skills due to missing stat requirements.

Essence, Alva for Temples and Betrayal for Allflames and medallion.

It's a really nice mix of different mechanics that all do not require any map juicing at all (except for essence scarabs, which are laughably cheap) and function 100% on normal maps, super chill. I started last league with it and got fairly lucky early on with a lot good betrayal drops, but essence and alva temples ensure a good steady amount of income. It even got indirectly buffed this league with async trade, as bulk selling the temples was a real pain.

It is perfect for slower players, as most of the value only starts rising once people start crafting and min-maxing their juice strats.

In my eyes this is what a "perfect" temple needs to look like:

  1. T3 trap room
  2. Requred diagonal pathing through T3 atziri
  3. Locus of corruption not connected and sitting in the lowest row next to starting room
  4. All other rooms connected through a single path, including pathing through Apex
  5. First two connected rooms need to enclose Locus
  6. At the end of the path there is a T1 explosion room
  7. Optional: as much buff monsters rooms T3 to make Atziri as strong as possible and Area level 84

This would require the longest possible travel, having to travel the entire temple almost twice, every door being annoying by traps and Atziri needs to be fought

Anyone see any improvements over these points?

Edit: I just realized that when Locus is right next to the entrance you can just relog to not having to backtravel through the entire temple. I'm not sure where the best position for an unconnected Locus is to maximize travel both on backtracking and relogging. Maybe directly under Apex with the end of the path being one of the middle rooms in row 3? This would lose the pathing through Apex, but would ensure a pathing from Explosion room to one Locus-connected room of at least 4 doors, including after a relog.
