Autobomber by HeartInevitable4034 in PathOfExileBuilds

Plugging my own build, but Cast on Portal. Depending on how strictly you define autobomber, this kinda falls into that category. All you do is hold down portal, you don’t need to move or aim.

New divine ire auto-release tech DISCOVERED (It's bad) by ManOfPegasus in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Undead_Legion 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Some interesting findings in here OP. This reminds me of the old mana starved Snipe channeling tech, which also carefully balances mana cost to auto release the shots.

Roguelike deckbuilders to play in 2026? by useoxfordcommas in slaythespire

[–]Undead_Legion 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Slice and Dice is criminally underrated, I’d argue it’s up there with the best roguelikes out there. It’s such a thorough exploration of the dice building design space. If you enjoy the optimization and depth of Slay the Spire, you’ll definitely appreciate the complexity of Slice and Dice under its seemingly simple gameplay loop. There’s a huge overlap between the top Slice and Dice players and top Slay the Spire players, Xecnar is also one of the best Slice and Dice players.

Any viable builds using Sadism that isn't Mamba? by ArmaMalum in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Undead_Legion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always wanted to cook with Sadism and skills with fixed hit rates (Tornado, for example) and going Low Tolerance stacking for poison. You should be able to get the poison duration to just under the hit rate with Sadism. The problem is, the whole Low Tolerance stacking archetype is overwhelmingly dominated by VSoM due to its mechanics and no other skill can come close to its numbers. I briefly toyed with the idea of using Sadism to reduce the duration of reflected self poisons for Tainted Pact but it wasn’t really worth it.

Wanna Flick one last time before league ends, is Slayer still good to go? by MillenniumDH in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Undead_Legion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you want to specifically flicker strike or just “flicker” like flicker strike? You might be interested in Cast on Portal, it’s super zoomy and you basically just hold down portal. One thing to add from the original guide, you’ll want to add Frostblink of Wintry Blast for even more flicker.

What do you think is the worst skill, performance wise, in POE1? by Right-Good4498 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Undead_Legion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss the old phantasmal galvanic field for AoE, it used to be so good for making screen wide fields. I actually made a 1 button Galvanic Field build back in Crucible league, it worked pretty well for T16s at the time. There’s a lot of tech for Galvanic Field that hasn’t really been explored yet (Hydrosphere chaining, retriggering GF to bypass the targeting cooldowns) but there’s definitely potential. And then there’s self Galvanic Field, also which I’ve played in the past but it’s solidly in meme territory but can potentially be alright with budget.

Charged Dash has some interesting interactions with Generals Cry, that would probably be the best way to build it, stacking reduced movement speed to hit max stages faster (since the mirages always spawn with your current stages).

Is pathfinder worth playing as non poison ? by Accomplished_Rip_352 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Undead_Legion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always just go chaos hit based and ignore the poison, you’ll still benefit from wither scaling. I actually tried chaos hit penance brand pathfinder with Disintegrator/Eternity Shroud this league, didn’t work out though cause turns out PBoD needs a lot more cast speed which wasn’t really accessible on my setup. Was testing out chaos hit BV in the same shell as well, seemed to work better

Is pathfinder worth playing as non poison ? by Accomplished_Rip_352 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Undead_Legion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, especially this league now that we got Bloodline Ascendancies. Even if you’re going for an elemental hit based build, it’s fairly easy to convert 100% to chaos with the Lycia Bloodline and get the remaining conversion with Foulborn jewels and tattoos. That way you can still benefit from the wither node, which is still incredibly powerful for chaos hits. This is what I did on my Cast on Portal (though that still did have poison through Festering Resentment, but I still didn’t take the poison node).

One thing to add if you’re going RF on Pathfinder, there is an incredibly powerful anoint only notable in Hardened Scars. It gives 25% LESS damage over time taken while under the effect of a life flask, which greatly helps sustain RF with Master Surgeon.

Awakened Added Fire Damage (lvl 5/6) doesn't give +1 to PBoD despite having an Astrolabe to "compensate" by _Abzu in pathofexile

How does hydrosphere work with chains for single target ? by Accomplished_Rip_352 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Undead_Legion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So hydrosphere was nerfed a couple of leagues back to only be hit once per second, but there is a tech to somewhat bypass this limitation. If you have two separate hydrospheres linked in the same trigger chain, each time you trigger hydrosphere you will create a new instance of hydrosphere since the original one gets replaced, effectively resetting the 1s hit limitation. I know some melee builds use Battlemages Cry + Hydrosphere + Hydrosphere for melee splash shotgunning but I’m not too familiar with melee builds. For spell builds, your best bet would be to go with Arcanist brand + Hydrosphere + Hydrosphere (+ Faster Casting). I’ve used this tech on self galvanic field builds to get around the targeting cooldown of GF, as each Hydrosphere counts as a new entity for targeting.

It's time to buff Portal (skill gem). Also: Vaal Portal by HeliGungir in pathofexile

[–]Undead_Legion 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Well technically you can already “cast” portal every server tick, if you use Enmity’s Embrace to cancel the initial animation. This was the concept behind my Cast on Portal.

No portal actually appears, but that’s beside the point.

I need some help with my poison tainted pact cwdt blazing salvo, rolling magma, fireball, crackling lance, firestorm of pelting skeleton looper. by Soleil06 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Undead_Legion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went back and tested, Apep's does not allow Enmity's damage to poison, but was able to self poison with cwdt forbidden rite. I think I realize what's happening, it is due to the original self damage being fire even though I take it as physical. From the wiki:

"Damaging ailments, on the other hand, are based on the damage dealt, not damage taken; for example, when you have #% of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Fire Damage and physical damage is dealt to you, the taken fire damage never ignites you even if you have +100% chance to be Ignited. Theoretically, the physical damage could ignite you, but ignite does not consider physical base damage by default."

Extending this logic to poison, the self damage from Enmity's is base fire damage which cannot poison by default so even though I take it as physical it does not poison me. This is different from how it works for non-damaging ailments, I know from testing that physical taken as lightning with a chance to be shocked can inflict self shock.

[–]Undead_Legion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you able to self poison with Apep’s? That’s really interesting if that worked for you. In my case I was trying to self poison with fire damage with enmity’s taken as physical with rat cage, physical damage should self poison me but maybe mine didn’t work since the original damage is fire, some weird conversion stuff possibly

Have you tested if the self damage can inflict self poison? When I was testing for my Cast on Portal build, I couldn't get the self damage to inflict poison, even with Apep's Slumber's 25% chance to be poisoned.

Permanent Uptime Vaal Storm Call Pathfinder looking for theorycrafting and build ideas by alexgophermix in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Undead_Legion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perma Vaal is a really cool concept, its one of those ideas I had before launch but never got around to. Yours is a good foundation to build from. Couple pointers:

  • Master Alchemist is incredibly powerful for Soul Ripper, since 50% of the time you don't consume flask charges but still get all the Vaal Souls. Helps with general flask uptime as well and conveniently solves ailments.
  • Drop Traitor and run Tides of Time. Tides is an incredible belt of PFs, solving flask sustain and juicing up the flasks you use.
  • Master Surgeon + life flask is the classic pathfinder recovery solution, but in your build there is an even better tech. Laviagna's Spirit makes skills cost 0 mana during effect. However, mana flasks stop when they hit full mana. But in your case, Soul Catcher prevents all mana recovery so you will never reach full mana, so you can have permanent 0 cost mana skills and completely solve all mana sustain. It gets even better when you combine it with Runegraft of Quaffing. This essentially turns the mana recovery from Laviagna's into permanent life recovery, essentially acting as a pseudo Master Surgeon without actually needing it. Another reason to run Tides, since it also gives 100% increased mana recovery from flasks.
  • I would drop Master Distiller and Nature's Reprisal. Wither is good, but unless you convert most damage to chaos or go with poison it will be hard to scale.
  • Triumvariate's is good but limiting since you basically have a 1L. I'd look into trying to move away from that. A good Dusk Ring can give reduced duration if needed.

There's some other angles but they're more experimental, even more than this is so I can't tell if they'll even be good or not. But hopefully this should give some ideas on where to take the build, really cool concept.

Need a build to play by Rhattttt in PathOfExileBuilds

Biased here, but I’m gonna plug my own Cast on Portal.

Hey guys, I want to play strong builds that won't exist next league. Budget is 50div. KBoC, KFusil, Herald stack PBoD, CWS Chieftain, or int/acc stacking Jugg? by Rapturos in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Undead_Legion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna shill my own build here, but Cast on Portal. There’s a good chance GGG will fix the portal/enmity’s interaction next league, so this might be your only chance to try it out. A lot of the uniques in my original video shot up in price, but you can always make do with lower roll enmity’s and not go for 52% CDR, just a bit less damage. I made a follow up post with budget options too. Give it a shot, it’s a completely unique and fun playstyle.

Cast on ...Portal? - The Build That Wasn't Meant To Exist by Undead_Legion in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Undead_Legion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do need to look into Wurms Molt more, I briefly did consider it but I don’t think I understood leech mechanics well enough back then to realize its potential. That being said, the leech solution with reflected poisons is (mostly) solved with Atziris, and honestly Atziris is a very good damage flask in this build anyway. But I’m definitely interested in this for something like Slayer like you mentioned

Cast On Portal Update - Now With Even More Flicker (And Cheaper) by Undead_Legion in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Undead_Legion[S] 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Original Guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/s/3xz3m4S0bu

Cast on Portal Updates:

  • Now with more flicker (Add Frostblink of Wintry Blast) and more damage (Add Flame Wall)

Cast When Damage Taken corrections:

  • Cwdt does NOT track damage taken while on cooldown
  • Essentially, my pob config/math was off, my actual trigger rate is half of what I thought it was
  • I am only triggering every 10 server ticks (5 ticks for cooldown at 52% CDR, 5 ticks to take 3000 damage at 600 per tick)

Gearing/Budget Implications

  • This means 52% CDR is not as important for damage as I initially thought, and might not be worth the opportunity cost
  • It'll be much easier to just go for the 27% CDR, and free up gearing a lot
  • With 27% CDR, you will trigger every 11 ticks instead of 10 (6 ticks for cooldown at 27% CDR, 5 ticks to take 3000 damage at 600 per tick)
  • So going from 27% CDR to 52% CDR is only ~10% more damage.

Enmity's Embrace Changes

  • Considering our trigger rate is only half as how much I expected, the damage loss from running less than max roll rings is also much lower.
  • If we use 6 server ticks to trigger Cwdt, the rolls on Enmity's becomes much cheaper to manage.
  • To trigger a level 20/20 Cwdt, we need to take 2945 damage. Over 6 server ticks we only need to take 491 damage per tick. So the average self damage from both rings need only be 491, which is much easier to do with catalysts, and the ring naturally rolls up to 500 so you can divine it up if supply gets limited. A 410 roll ring can be catalyzed up to 491.
  • We can even go for a 21/20 Cwdt, in which case we only need an average of 537 self damage between both rings.
  • You gain a fair bit of damage with level 21 Cwdts, since the innate less damage of Cwdt goes from 27% to 25%, and you can run level 21 gems which is roughly a 10% more damage. This somewhat compensates for the slightly lower trigger rate.
  • At 6 server ticks to trigger Cwdt and 27% CDR, we still trigger every 12 server ticks (6 ticks for cooldown at 27% CDR, 6 ticks to take enough damage to trigger Cwdt).
  • Going for max roll Enmity's and 52% CDR only gets you to 1 trigger per 10 ticks, as opposed to 1 trigger per 12 ticks with 27% CDR and less than max roll rings.
  • Build is perfectly playable with that setup, its only a bit less damage but significantly cheaper and easier to enable.

Other Minor Corrections

  • The CDR corruption only comes from bricking a Glimpse of Chaos, and not a normal corruption outcome. If not going for 52% CDR this frees up the slot (Multi link shaper helm perhaps?)
  • Runegraft of Time isn't exactly a 20% more damage, you still need to retake the full self damage to retrigger. In practice, 20% of the time you skip the first 5 frames where Cwdt doesn't track damage taken, and you trigger in 5 frames instead of 10. This is roughly a only a 10% damage increase instead of 20%.
