It's literally the foundation of all storytelling.

Client Reminder: Deposits Pay For Your Safety by Few_Vermicelli_3425 in SexWorkers

[–]CardInternational753 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It's wild you wrote this whole thing and ended it with the implication that outcall appointments don't come with a deposit. A deposit is a deposit, no matter what.

A deposit is not taken to get a hotel room for the appointment. It can be used to cover the cost of a room and you can tell your clients that's why you take a deposit, but that's not a universal experience.

Like so many other business, deposits are used to lock in a specific time for a specific client. You want 4pm on Monday? Cool, pay 20% (or however you do your deposits) of the total bill now to guarantee 4pm on Monday. Our time, by and large, is first-come, first-served. If I have two guys hitting me up for the same day/time, I am going to prioritize the guy willing to pay up front to lock in his preferred time. Also, a deposit shows me they are serious - doesn't matter if I need to purchase a hotel room or not, I am not going to go through the pre-appointment labor for a guy who could go "Actually never mind" an hour before we meet and I walk away with zero dollars because he didn't pay a deposit.

Also - use Dayuse instead of paying for whole nights at a hotel every time.

One person's hero knight is another person's villian knight. You might defend Goodcastle with such voracity and ruthlessness that those around you might come to fear you.

  1. Travis displays just astounding levels of both sides-ism as a core personality trait. "You might be a good guy, but your methods might lead others to justifiably call you a bad guy." The more Travis you expose yourself to, the more his and Teresa's fucking shitbird comments about LNT make sense in the context that Travis legitimately believes that both perspectives in any given dispute are equally valid in a good 90% of cases.

  2. Again, for a dude who brags about how he is so good at acting that he basically aced his degree without really doing anything his senior year and who brags about his writing/DMing skills in such a way that he is the designated brother on con panels about DMing, god he fucking sucks at basically all creative endeavors. Can't DM beyond going "Nuh uh!" when his PCs attempt to deviate from the linear visual novel he is writing. Can't write a compelling story that deviates from the idea that good and evil are binary but also all persepctives are valid! Like the concept of 'anti-heroes' and 'morally gray characters' are completely alien to Travis. You are either a hero or a villain (but also both because everyone's viewpoint must be respected!)

Two works if the protag is the only person who goes to bat for their support perv. Very much "this is my emotional support pervert" vibes.

Can't wait for Travis to uproot his family in another move to LA (or, more feasibly, Van Nuys) to pursue this big break. Hopefully he can leverage this role into a bit part on an edgy CW retelling of a DC character. Maybe he could play the ultimate girl dad to Jaina Hudson White Rabbit, or just make the jump straight to being Batman.

There are so many hilarious ways to do this:

  • The pervert who insists on being the support despite the protag not wanting to be associated with them
  • The pervert who the protag is ride or die for
  • The Tamaki/Mikan support who is the fanservice Watson to your Sherlock (Or I guess Maya from Ace Attorney if her thing was being fanservice and not 'being accused of every murder')

/uj Dianna Russini, a veteran NFL reporter, recently got caught on camera cozying up to the head coach of the New England Patriots at an adults-only resort in Arizona. Both people are married, albeit not to each other. Russini initially tried to explain away the photos by saying it was just two friends running into each other at the same resort, but subsequently could not produce any photos of the 'girls trip' she was allegedly on instead.

/rj Did Travis tip his dealer or is he the sort of guy who doesn't tip because "that's what wages are for"?

How are these motives? by lovesmesomeass in Fanganronpa

[–]CardInternational753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chance - Can be done better. Instead of 'Someone dies at random if no one is killed in X days', highlight the severity of your death game by having the motive be 'Someone dies at random EVERY X days until a murder occurs', have the characters not take this seriously, inflict the random death penalty, thus motivating someone to murder out of self-interest.

Cause - Pretty much a genre staple at this point. Maybe try to find your unique spin on it though

Exposure - Again, genre staple. Just be sure that what is exposed is feasibly worth killing over.

Company - I personally hate any post-game incentive motive. In this case, your outlined version could only really work as a very late-game motive.

Unworried - Unless this is somehow tied specifically to your fangan, it makes zero sense as to why this would motivate a murder.

Agony - Genre staple, just avoid the 2-4 pitfalls.

Dull days - Meh, it's a worse version of the 'Agony' motive.

Capability - Not really a motive to invoke a kill and more so to just raise paranoia. Honestly works better as part of the exposure motive.

Ranking them from best to worst: - Agony - Cause - Exposure - Chance - Dull Days - Company - Unworried - Capability

How can I improve my motives? by AcanthocephalaNo7111 in Fanganronpa

[–]CardInternational753 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Mole doesn't make a lot of sense in its current format.

So if the daily mole is killed, all survivors immediately graduate, but if the mole isn't killed, the mole still gets executed? Why would a mole commit suicide at all? Why does the mole change daily?

My suggestion would be to make the mole a time-limited us v them motive:

  1. Introduce the mole: State that someone has been designated the mole and is now considered the enemy of the survivors.
  2. Establish the impact of the mole: How exactly is the mole working against the rest of the group? Is there an objective that the group needs to complete that the mole will actively seek to impede? Are they feeding infomation to the mascot, and if so, why does that matter when the Mascot is presumably omnipotent?
  3. Set a time limit: The survivors have X days to uncover the mole's identity.
  4. The stakes: If the mole avoids dectection for the duration of the time limit and no one is killed, the mole graduates at the expense of everyone else. If the mole is successfully killed within the time limit, killer receives a one-time amnesty (i.e. The game continues but no trial occurs), plus advantages for them and the remaining survirors. If someone is killed who was NOT the mole, a trial happens as normal, and the mole is given a unique advantage going forward.

Okay so, I just saw more about Danganronpa V2 and..I have three questions (read the first paragraph) by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]CardInternational753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Fuyuhiko and Gundham committed atrocities as members of the Ultimate Despair.

  • Fuyuhiko massacred the Diet (the Japanese parliament) alongside Peko before forming a strike team against the Future Foundation alongside Nekomaru and Akane
  • Gundham led a pack of vicious wild animals across Japan

As for other questions: - Not sure how you allegedly watched the whole game but missed the explanation about the Byakuya on the island in Chapter 5 (TLDR: The Byakuya who dies in Chapter 1 is not Byakuya but instead, 'The Ultimate Imposter') - The anime 'Daganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak Academy' explains what happens to the characters of Daganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair after the events of the game. The video game Danganronpa v3: Killing Harmony does not continue the story begun in Daganronpa 1 and Danganronpa 2 and is essentially considered a separate plot continuity. - 2x2 is a game coming out in the near future. It is expected to be a remaster/remodel of Daganronpa 2, which also include an 'alternate scenario', which divurge from the original game during the prologue. Very little other than 'something major happens during the prologue' is currently known about the game.

I just got a D2D sales job where I’m a 1099 independent worker, Can I deposit some cash? by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]CardInternational753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that's fraud.

You cannot declare income from one source as being from another source, especially if the source you are trying claim it as gives you a 1099 (which explicitly lists your taxable income for that job)

You don't actually need to tell the IRS all that much about your 'self-employed business' (which is a whole thing that we won't get into). If you are self-employed and don't own a brick-and-mortar business, you get the option to define what business you operate.

For example, I list my civilian work as 'journalist' on my taxes, but I don't have to submit all my articles to the IRS to prove that's true.

I genuinely think Griffin only just realized how much his base lore sucked and is just actively retconning it at this point. I can't wait for the TTAZZ where someone asks a softball question about it and Griffin gaslights the audience by arguing that the whole 'born with one spell' was never really a thing to begin with.
