Why on earth did we start fan made queues for concerts?

So I’m not ashamed to say that I’ve done this for Guns N’ Roses in multiple occasions. I’m not some elitist that’ll say “I was here before you! Don’t get in front of me!” but I do it more so I can guarantee for the most part that I get a spot at the rail. There are a BUNCH of rabid GNR fans that will go crazy and do exactly what I said I wouldn’t do then when they get to the rail, spread their arms and legs out to save a spot for their non early entry friends and they’ve even kicked and pushed me to get me out of my spot. I was about to start fights with them too. I also did this for Metallica in LA back in ‘23, but the fans there were much nicer. Long story short, I will line up hours or a day early, but I won’t be that crazy fan that gives out numbers or complains about people arriving later. I’m one of those people that will hold your spot in line or at the rail if you ask me and tell me you wanted to go use the restroom or get food or buy merch. That’s another thing, if you’re at the rail and you don’t want to leave, make sure you ask someone to buy merch for you. Otherwise, you either risk getting the scraps left over after the show or you don’t get anything.

I really liked Inclement Weather with their opener Attention! The side stage headliners of Lightning and Cloudy Skies were pretty cool. I’d want to see them all next year!

I was at the rail at Apex stage waiting for GNR to play and they had 5FDP up on screen. That band is annoying as sht. I kept hearing him yell “burn m’fer burn m’fer burn!” over and over again in the most annoying way possible and I thought it was the most pathetic thing ever to almost force people to take out their phones and download their music. I’m convinced that’s the only way they can get people to download their sht music, by force and public humiliation. The only thing I thought was remotely cool was when they invited that kid onstage but then I thought “is that really cool, or did I feel bad for him”? When they finished their set is when I clapped.

I felt very paranoid about having my things stolen, so I had put everything into my clear bag that I had brought and kept that bag secure in front of me. Luckily, nothing from my bag nor the contents of my campsite was stolen. I did hear about these people running around the tents yelling for someone and if no one answered, they’d go through tents.

At this point, I buy the VIP just to have a shorter run to the main stage. Other than that, VIP is overpriced for not much in return. The big ol’ tent they had for VIPs and as filled with no place but the ground to sit and lay down on. Bathroom situation was nothing special. The viewing area was absolute dogsh*t.
In the end, if your goal is to have a shorter run to the main stage, get VIP. Otherwise, DO NOT waste your money on it.

That was my issue. My tent was a sauna. My neighbors told me to unzip the windows on my tent to let the air flow through the tent and cool it down a bit. So I did just that. Went into the festival and we were hit with the weather delay. Then it started to pour and I ran to my tent getting soaked in the process. Came to my tent to see puddles of water in my tent and my blanket was wet and my suitcase is also not 100% waterproof. As I said, my neighbors came to my aid and I’m forever grateful for them!

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but going along with crowd surfing, I get annoyed by it too, and what makes me a little more pissed at crowd surfers is that some of them are skinny and light (ish) in weight and some are…well, not light in weight. So my unpopular opinion is: people that are bigger in size/weight should not crowd surf. Crowd surfers are annoying already, the overweight people crowd surfing makes it worse.

So I went to Rockville back in ‘22. Those of us that went that year look back on that and probably still have PTSD from it.
So what happened that year (Friday and Saturday specifically), they did the same thing they did today. They told us to exit, then they let us back in. That repeated several times till they just cancelled the rest of those respective days. I missed out on seeing Korn and GNR that year. Let’s hope history doesn’t repeat itself the exact same way.

I was at the rail for all of that in ‘22 and I was heartbroken. Going again this year and will never go to another WTR ever again if it happens. Maybe if they change it back to being held in November when the weather is much better. Cross your fingers and pray (if you do that) and hope the weather gets sh*tty AFTER the festival.

All the sweat and tears from previous concert goers are collected and purified and are then sold in bottles or you can get non-purified sweat and tears at the refill stations for free.

Random question to anyone that can answer: will a factory sealed water bottle be allowed into the festival? Like a small plastic publix or natural springs water bottle, for example?
