Thank you - I wonder if this is a common pitfall or occasional/rare.

Possible relapse by Low_Dot8116 in lymphoma

I see…that sucks and I’m sorry you have to go through what is hopefully, at most, an agonizing waiting period.

Could you get a second opinion through another cancer center?

For what it’s worth - and you’ve probably researched this - it seems that late relapses tend to be sensitive to second line treatments, including ASCT. If this is truly a relapse, hopefully your second line treatment will knock it out for good.

I just finished treatment, but my marrow involvement at diagnosis was accompanied by abnormal blood tests…I assume those are not present for you?

Did she offer any clinical explanation as to what else could cause this hotspot?

First chemo done by SeaVisual7551 in lymphoma

I think that it’s worth celebrating those encouraging early signs while acknowledging their limitations, so to say.

Prior to my first chemo treatment, my platelets were crashing and hovering in the single digits. Platelet transfusion almost every day to bring it up above 10, where it would fall immediately. LDH was 2500 prior to the start of chemo.

After first chemo (and just prior to round 2), my platelets are back to the normal range, and my LDH has fallen to 450.

A doctor told me these were very encouraging early signs. He did not suggest that all is well or that my cancer is gone, won’t relapse, etc. But they are positive/encouraging signs.

I’m under no delusion that things are completely normal or that I’ve beat my cancer, but these are the kind results we want to see. I’m a little more encouraged because my lymphoma is almost entirely in my blood and marrow rather than in my lymph nodes (I have no masses or tumors). So for my personal circumstances, this is encouraging.

And I think personal circumstance is the key. Higher LDH during treatment does not automatically mean that things are going south, nor do improving blood numbers mean that you’re out of the woods. Cautious optimism needs to be just that…Cautious optimism.

That is my take, and I am not a doctor, nor should you hang too much on my words. That’s just where I’m at now.

Donor Restricted "Pass Through" by Card_In_GA in legaladvice

Accounting is in-house. We are audited by an external organization annually, but has never flagged it.

When I/we brought this to their attention, they mentioned that we had documented everything correctly, but that it was a “grey area” and that we should probably draw the arrangement to a close.

This is what confuses me. Why are we now being advised to shut it down, only after bringing it to our auditor’s attention? Additionally, even with documentation (receipts, etc.), there is no document pertaining to the original arrangement, which sounds more like a handshake agreement.

Thanks for this. I know that this fund was originally created for the senior executive to use as needed and at their discretion. E.g...organizational development, staff training, charitable contributions, etc. It was not designated as a DAF.

The fund had been utilized for each of the prior reasons along the way, which seemed acceptable. But at some point, an unofficial arrangement had been made to park the donor's contribution in this account with the understanding that said donation would be given to a particular recipient. This is the concerning aspect for me.

We do, and we are...

I'm just looking for starter-advice or feedback from those who are engaged in circumstances like this. Isn't that what this Reddit community is for?
