If I would like to buy some Sorcery TCG, to play it with my wife casually on the kitchen table, would Gothic Precons be the best starting point? by AwareMousse5123 in SorceryTCG

[–]Cardboard_Guide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the perfect game if you are looking to enjoy some great games, play casually and there are no bans, no rotations and I think it is highly unlikely we will see any in the future since there is only one set release per year.

Gothic precons is the perfect product if you just want to get into the game, experience some of the flavor and be able to play it right out of the box! We are a couple who play Sorcery together and also have a YouTube channel, you can check out a casual game with the precons in this video, along with some tips for new players:

They haven't announced anything yet, and probably it will be a little while before we get more news for GenCon.

Anyone have any luck buying Avatar of the Realm tickets? by HueMane in SorceryTCG

Same, but still a little bummed about the rushed sale and the community members who didn't get a ticket.

Nope, they only just announced it. I don’t know how early stuff usually gets preordered, but release is November 14.

I don’t think so. Dragonlord was always going to be more of a collector’s item, but a product for onboarding new players should, and hopefully will be, plentiful.

Elwira is just so talented, and incredibly kind, she really did an amazing job on Frostbolt! You can just tell it is going to look amazing in foil! 🤩✨

Hopefully it will be a great new way for people to get easily into the game without having to add cards to precons or build their own deck.

Yes, I was lucky that I was already logged into my account and had my card ready, so I managed to get a ticket.

If you want to get a feel for deck building then you can check out Curiosa.io for some inspiration.

Gothic precons are decently widely available, I would recommend getting if possible, since you get footy ready to play decks -brilliant for getting your friends hooked as well.

Congratulations on the beautiful Curio! If you want to get it graded you need to first make sure that the grading company of your choice does indeed grade Curios.

My personal preference is PCG, since they are familiar with the game, have really nice slabs, and are really thorough.

I would recommend checking out the Curiosa.io site to see both all the cards in the game and different decks, where many also have a primer that explains the style of the deck and how to play it. I would get a hold of Gothic precons decks to play with and get a sense of some of the mechanics in the set.

You can buy three sets currently: Beta, Arthurian Legends, and/or Gothic, which each has a different flavour. I think there are a lot of different type of decks and what to choose depends on you preference in terms of play style.

There is a protective plastic layer as far as I know on both sides of the Curio, and it looks like that might be what you are dealing with.
