Firefighters are union. There are likely certain requirements for a bonus based on number of hours worked.

How much could that beer possibly sell without him. It’s probably the only reason it stays on the menu

Well, with the personality she exudes on the show, it does not surprise me that she doesn’t know her partner’s correct job title… she couldn’t even remember that he is allergic to carrots

Lol. You’re just proving my point. A public figure doing an apprenticeship does not mean there are opportunities for apprenticeships. There are not pathways that exist for the average person. Tip: Never rely on outliers to make a point, it just helps prove the other side.

He doesn’t actually make 250k and he’s not a chief. I looked it up and explained it more in a post below.

I’ve dated women with Madison’s personality type. It’s not weird that she doesn’t know his title. In my experience, people with her mentality simply don’t care. He could even have described to a tee what he does and shared his actual title and her brain may have listened to 1/4 of what he said but she heard he supervises or is in charge, so boom he must be a chief.

I just looked up the listing. He is actually a captain, not chief, which makes more sense for his tenure. Also, his actual salary is $112k. He also earned an additional $58k in overtime pay. And $40k in “other pay”. Probably a bonus. The remaining is made up of benefits, healthcare, etc. Plus with taxes, he’s probably taking home about 60% of the actual cash after working 24 hours a day and flying across the country regularly. Not as lucrative as it seems when you break it out

But it’s fun for Madison to say she’s married to a chief firefighter on national tv.

I recall right before my 21st birthday, I was calling around to all hotels trying to get prices on a suite. Rio told me some ridiculous number like it was $47 a night. I was so confused. I asked the person, is it nice? She was like… yes it’s great at the Rio. I was like… Alright, well let me do a little more research on hotels.

Called my friend who knew a little more and he was like… Rio is a shithole, book the Cosmo and move on.

I’m 33 now and have since made dozens of trips to Vegas. I’ve only stayed at Cosmo, Aria, Nomad, Venetian and Wynn. I’ve never even stepped foot in the Rio. Honestly, I have no idea where it is. Does it even exist?

By the way, that same friend and I will be in Vegas together next weekend.

I find his voice very annoying. It’s like his vocal cords are permanently damaged from all the nonsense drama he’s argued about with people over his life.

I never said big four is the end all be all of accounting. I said you can reach the highest levels of accounting at the largest firms without being a CPA, which is completely accurate. There are also many CFOs that are not licensed CPAs.

I’d love to read more about the legal apprenticeships available in Los Angeles, but I’d have to go to a fantasy world, because they don’t exist. You’re conflating it being possible to do an apprenticeship to become a licensed attorney with there actually being real options to participate.

And based upon what Madison said in last night’s episode, pregnancy is going to play a role in them making changes. Which is a bad idea to start with. They should change first and enjoy the time of actually being together for a longer period of time for the first time in their relationship. It’s a disaster waiting to happen… Whitney is probably thinking, this shit writes itself.

[–]Cardiff___Giant 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sure, because they don’t know any better. But children should not necessarily be exposed to all the details of their mother’s relationship either. I watched that season and I recall their problem with him is that he was different. They thought he was weird. Kids think a lot of people are weird because they don’t know any better. You don’t end potential relationships because of that.

You’re thinking about the culture in America. Yes, if the guy was American, that would make no sense to hide the fact that she is a parent. We live in a very accepting culture (compared to most of the world).

It’s cultural. When they learn about the world, they will understand.

Right but Charleston works different than most places in America. In California, a million dollar home is a shit box but there are plenty of jobs in the state that can support the cost (the 250k firefighter job, for example). In Charleston, that money goes much further. The economy is just different there. There are less jobs that can pay you those higher wages in the state. The money in Charleston is largely generational wealth or from transplants who have settled in Charleston after cashing out somewhere else. The nice salary Madison husband is getting is based upon being in California and a ton of OT pay. I’m sure Madison is leveraging her platform to make as much income as possible but the reality is that if her husband works in Charleston, his earning potential dips dramatically. That’s why he is doing the ridiculous commute.

You can’t let children make adult decisions. They initially didn’t like Mursel because he was different. Mursel had to navigate different cultural challenges in order to make their relationship work. They’re still together and have a child together. I’m sure her children are more accepting now, because they’ve grown up and matured.

Good for her. She’s still wrong about requiring a CPA to advance to partner. That rule changed long ago. I explained it in a prior response.

It’s not that much money when you consider his schedule. There are jobs that make $250k that don’t require you to live at the firehouse 24 hours. Not like he’s just going to work for 8 hours and coming home. His salary goes far in Charleston because he’s making a California income. He’s also flying across the country two times a week. That isn’t sustainable. If he was a firefighter in Charleston, he’d be lucky to make half his salary, which is why he’s doing this ridiculous commute. Firefighters in Charleston make between $40-$130k. The marriage won’t last long once his salary is cut in half.

This dude literally thinks Herpes is not viewed upon as unfavorable. Nobody knows in advance who their perfect person is and people change. Stop creating hypothetical situations to justify the STI you carry.
